It appears that the history of human kind is a reiteration of the same singleminded atrocity under which different races, religions and believes are finally unified and men manage to be truly equal.
The millions killed in the Nazi camps, in the Russian Gulags, in the Japanese camps, in the Killing Fields, in the Turkish jails, in Tienammen, in East Timor, in Africa, in Afghanistan, in Iran, in Iraq, in Myanmar, in Yugoslavia; the victims of Hitler and Mussolini, Napoleon, Pinochet, of Mao Tze Tong and Deng Xiao Ping, of Stalin, Lenin, of Pol Pot, of the many African war lords; the millions massacred by Portuguese, French, Dutch, British, Spanish conquerors; the black slaves, the American Indians, the Curds, the Chilean desaparecidos, the Australian indigenous; the many more that I'm forgetting here; they should teach us that no cause will ever be good enough if the price has to be paid in human lives. Auschwitz and Birkenau are here for us to remember.
