Guardians of the Water Capital: Latios and Latias

The girl walks along, as Rion and Zanna appear before her. Through special technology, they see that the girl is none other than Latias. They talk with her before revealing that they know her true identity. Latias tried to run away, but was cornered by the two Rocket's Pokémon, Ariadosu and Eefui. Eefui used a Psychic attack, while Ariadosu fired String Shot.

Satoshi arrived and stopped the fighting in his usual manner. He freed Latias from the webbing, after taking a Psybeam attack from Eefui, and escaped with her into a maze of canals. Satoshi manages to lose the two Pokémon, being led to a courtyard by Latias. Satoshi finds Kasumi and Takeshi enjoying ice cream. He turns to Latias, but she has vanished. Satoshi, Kasumi, and Takeshi decide to head for the temple of Alto Mare. Being typical Rockets, Zanna and Rion spy on Satoshi and his friends.

Inside the temple, Satoshi and his friends see fossils embedded in the floor. Kasumi, being the typical girl, becomes scared at what she sees. A man approaches them, explaining that those are fossils. He leads them to a large machine, in which he explains, controls the whole island. However, he quickly points out, that this is according to the legend. Satoshi notices a girl who is painting, realizing that she looks familiar to the girl he saw earlier. As she leaves, Satoshi decides to follow, telling his friends he would meet them at the center before dark.

Satoshi chases the girl continuously, finally catching up with her. She seems annoyed as she replies to him in a sarcastic tone. She angrily stomps off, but Satoshi continues to follow her. He comes to a fork in the road so to speak, and debates before heading to his left. He looks around, seeing only people in boats. Pikachuu looks to a bridge, spotting the girl. She wishes to lead Satoshi somewhere, so Satoshi chases off after her. She leads him through various paths, and through a vine covered road. The girl apparantly leads Satoshi to a dead end. He watches in amazement as the girl walks through the wall. Hesitant, Satoshi doesn't know what to do. He watches Pikachu walk through the wall, and decides to try it for himself.

Satoshi walked through a dark tunnel, before reaching a beautiful garden area. Satoshi viewed his surroundings, seeing other Pokémon before taking note of the girl. She took off, with Satoshi following behind. He finally noticed her swinging. The air seemed strange, as something emerged from the water infront of them. The invisible force headed towards them. Instinctively, Pikachuu tried to shock it, with no success. The force sent Pikachuu to the ground, before making a sharp turn and heading back. The girl stood before Satoshi, and the being appeared to them; it was Latios.

Latios was displeased with Satoshi's presence, and yelled at the girl. Another of the same girl appeared, yelling at Satoshi, and telling Latios to attack. The original girl whom had saved Satoshi, stopped Latios from attacking. The owner of the temple showed up, and explained that Latias just wanted to play with Satoshi. Happily, the girl took Satoshi to the swing. Satoshi noted that the man called her Latias, which she soon revealed to be so.

Latios lightens up the situation, by giving Pikachuu a ride. The real girl introduces herself as Kanon, explaining that she is an artist, and takes care of the two Pokémon. The man is her grandfather, Bongore, who is a care taker of the museum and a boat maker. The two Pokémon play with Pikachuu and Satoshi, before they both headed to the fountain. Latios' eyes begin to glow, as he swims into the fountain; Latias' eyes begin to glow. The whole area seems to be underwater, as Latios is swimming through it. Satoshi is shocked. Kanon explains that this is some trick that they can perform. Latios is the camera, while Latias projects the image. Latios swims through canals and past fish before the image fades.

The two show Satoshi the legend of Alto Mare, and the Teardrop of the Heart. Everyone gathers around a pool of water, which was the source of water for Alto Mare. Latias flies Satoshi to see the Teardrop, which is on the other side of the water. The two Rockets watch everything from distance.

Becoming late, Satoshi realizes that Pikachuu and he must leave. Bongore leads Satoshi to the boat house, explaining that Kenon will give him a ride to the center.
