GEORGE BUSH’S ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISOR: "AUCTION OFF ALL FEDERAL LANDS INCLUDING NATIONAL PARKS"

Terry L. Anderson, environmental advisor to George W. Bush Jr., has proposed auctioning off all 600 million acres of federal public lands in  the U.S. over the next 20-40 years. This not only includes every National  Forest, National Wildlife Refuge, and BLM District; it also includes every National Park and Monument.

Under his proposal, non-profit environmental groups could bid on the  free market against the likes of Exxon to obtain the Arctic National  Wildlife Refuge, or against Weyerhaeuser to obtain Yellowstone National  Park, or against Phelps Dodge to obtain Grand Canyon National Park. Any  bets on how the bidding will go?

Anderson is closely associated with several conservative think tanks  pushing for the privatization and/or commercialization of public lands. He is the director of the Political Economy Research Center & a  senior fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Anderson freely admits that his corporate take-over agenda would  be wildly unpopular with the American public. In an interview with the National Journal (10-23-99) he said that Bush is watching the polls and will not likely announce any radical public land agendas during the campaign.

Alllllllllllrighty then! Time for another rant! So here we are it's Memorial Day Weekend, Americans everywhere are "On the Road!" Gas prices automatically jumped 10 cents a gallon and the best reason I can come up with is the fact that our oil kings know that America will hit the road for the next 5 months, and like good little tin soldiers we just pay, pay, pay. We ask no question, we might mumble amongst ourselves but over all we just step to the tune like good little drones of the Pied Piper! It's killing me! If you tried something like this a 150-200 years ago Americans would have had their leaders heads on a platter, but today we trained to be passive, and except our lot! After all Americans will spend 20 million dollars just for a couple of laps around the earth right? I mean what the hell is going on here? $100 for a pair of boots? $50 for a pair of jeans? You can pay 40 buck for a shirt that will fall apart in 6 months! People are getting to the point where they can't even afford electricity, and heating oil for their homes! But we're good little worker bees, we have been taught not to be individuals because that's just awful (who do you think you are anyway sticking your head above the rest!), don't question, don't think, just consume, accept, be like the rest and, Sleep (sheep), Sleep, (sheep), Sleep! 

So what shall we do? Should we take to the streets with guns, knives, bottles and rocks and bring our ruling class to their knees? That hardly seems like a logical thing to do in our day and age! However there are things we can do that WILL get the attention of our ruling class, oh yes America does have a ruling class, and the one thing they count on is our contentment with them. Our contentment is their interest, and THEY WILL protect THEIR INTERESTS. You want to get their attention? Then stop playing the game! Don't just shell out the money their charging for whatever it is their selling! We've got to hit them where it hurts, in the one language they understand $$$$$$$$$$$$$! Of course the alternative is to just keep going as we are and consume, accept, be like the rest and, Sleep (sheep), Sleep, (sheep), Sleep! You know only 30 years ago when my father was my age his HOUSE only cost as much as what their asking today for a mediocre car! It makes you wonder what the next 30 years of passive acceptance of Americans ruling class will bring us!

So here I go again! Am I the only one who has a hard time with this whole energy crisis thing all of a sudden? Seems pretty strange to me that as soon as we got two oil barons in the two highest offices in the United States we all of a sudden have any energy crisis. Let me see if I can use my psychic powers and predict how things will go here in the near future. Ready? Ok here I go............................First we'll see sky rocketing price jumps in Electricity, and Gasoline prices, then come the winter time they'll be asking some ridiculous price for Home Heating Oil. Once we are so burdened with electrical, heating and gasoline prices we can't even eat old Duhbya will make the move their dying to make. Duhbya will address the nation and say something like hey America I know it sure sucks to be you right now, and I really hate to have to do this because I'm really for the environment but I've got a plan to pull us out of this. You see we're going to start drilling off the coast in Florida and up there in Alaska in the wildlife area. Not only that but to make sure this doesn't happen again we're going to start auctioning off every National  Forest, National Parks, and all National Wildlife Refuge so we don't have to go through all this legal mobo gumbo every time we need more oil. Now don't be to discouraged because even you can put bids in to buy this land but of course whoever puts in the highest bid will get the land. Hey but check this out, with all this money we get for this land we'll give some more money back in taxes to help ease the burden you are facing right now in this energy crisis!

Let's see I think that's just about the way it will pan out. Of course I wonder if now I'll have the FBI or Secret Services over here soon banging on my door. You know there was a lady who sent Duhbya and his brother Jeb some email about how much they sucked and they had government agencies all over the poor woman. I guess freedom of speech is yet another thing old Duhbya is going to be getting ride of. 

So what's the deal with Duhbya anyway? He handled the China deal and actually didn't do a bad job at that, however many on the Right - His party - had nothing but harsh words for him. Interesting......then a day later he comes up with the crazed idea that Birth Control shouldn't be covered for Federal Employees! Huh? George are you drinking again? Or perhaps more likely are you trying to pander to the Right Wing because they feel you failed? Let me see if I have this right, you're against abortion, and now your against Birth Control? So everyone should just stop having sex, is that it? And what about Federal Employees who have prescriptions for let say Viagra, are you against that too? No? Hmm so you can have husbands who get Viagra and have it paid for by insurance but their wives can't get Birth Control with their insurance! Are you smoking Crack or what? You're off to a bad start my friend, and I knew it wouldn't take long for you show your true colors, so this is what you call compassionate conservatism!

This was sent to me by a friend I found it very interesting and thought I should pass it along to you all! None of this is new information, but the re-contexting is very provocative. As the world waits and watches the question that begs to be asked is: "Has America fallen into what it has always deemed a 3rd world practice?"

A history professor from Uppsala University, in Sweden, called to tell me about an article she had read in which a Zimbabwe politician was quoted as saying that children should study this event closely, for it shows that election fraud is not only a Third World phenomenon.

1. Imagine that we read of an election occurring anywhere in the Third World in which the self-declared winner was the son of the former prime minister and that former prime minister was himself the former head of that nation's secret police (CIA).

2. Imagine that the self-declared winner lost the popular vote but won based on some old colonial holdover (electoral college) from the nation's pre-democracy past.

3. Imagine that the self-declared winner's victory turned on disputed votes cast in a province governed by his own brother!

4. Imagine that the poorly drafted ballots of one district, a district heavily favoring the self-declared winnerıs opponent, led thousands of voters to vote for the wrong candidate.

5. Imagine that members of that nation's most despised caste, fearing for their  lives/livelihoods, turned out in record numbers to vote in near-universal opposition to the self-declared winnerıs candidacy.

6. Imagine that hundreds of members of that most-despised caste were intercepted on their way to the polls by state police operating under the authority of the self-declared winnerıs brother.

7. Imagine that six million people voted in the disputed province and that the self-declared winnerıs lead was only 327 votes. Fewer, certainly, than the vote counting machines margin of error.

8. Imagine that the self-declared winner and his political party opposed a more careful by-hand inspection and recounting of the ballots in the disputed province or in its most hotly disputed district.

9. Imagine that the self-declared winner, himself a governor of a major province, had the worst human-rights record of any province in his nation and actually led the nation in executions.

10. Imagine that a major campaign promise of the self-declared winner was to appoint like-minded human-rights violators to lifetime positions on the highest court of that nation.

None of us would deem such an election to be representative of anything other than the self-declared winner's will to be in power. All of us, I imagine, would wearily turn the page, thinking that it was another sad tale of pitiful pre- or anti-democracy peoples in some strange place elsewhere.

I've got to stop reading Newsweek! Here's a quote from issue 11/20/00 Pg 28. from Virginian Democratic Rep. Jim Moran: "These big national issues (Prescription Drugs, Social Security etc), will stay unresolved because it is in the benefit of each party to keep them unresolved." HUH? Excuse me maybe I don't understand what democracy is. I thought it was to elect individuals who would pass laws and legislation that were for the benefit of the people of the United States of America! Not to play school yard power games with those lives! Obviously the elect of the United States of America are no different from any other ruling class. You don't matter, I don't matter, only what they want matters and they will have it at any cost, at your expense and mine! WAKE UP AMERICA! THESE IDIOTS HAVE GOT TO GO!.

Time for a little refresher course. Close your eyes and let's take a trip back to the eighth grade. Let me know when your there I'll wait.............................................................................

I can't believe what I just read in Newsweek (10/30/00 Pg. 90H). There are actually companies out there who are trying to intimidate people from having an opinion about anything on the Internet by suing them for what they call Cybersmearing! Now if you personally attack someone hey....that's not right BUT if you tell them you think their company or corporate policies suck and why, well there's this cool little thing we call FREEDOM OF SPEECH perhaps you've heard of it, it's in THE CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA! And they don't just stop there; these corporations subpoena personal information from your ISP like, Credit Card information, record logs of every time you've logged in for up to 6 months, and information on books and or software you've purchased online! Uhhh I could be wrong but I think this also violates a little clause called THE RIGHT TO PRIVACY which is also part of THE CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA! And why is this information given out by your ISP if subpoenaed? A quote from the article...(hope I don't get sued!) "ISP's must comply with subpoenas and as a matter of policy don't intercede to protect they the privacy of a member who is being sued."

Well here I go again! I can't believe the world I live in! I just heard from some friends of mine who have kids, say that they took Burt and Ernie off of Sesame Street because they were two guys living together and it insinuated that it was OK to be gay! WHAT?? Who the hell came up with that? Burt and Ernie have been around a good part of my life and that thought NEVER occurred to me. I think the people who come up with this stuff should take a look at what's going on in their little perverse universe they call their mind! The fact that whoever came up with this, came up with it, tells me more about them, than what they say Burt and Ernie conveys. And another thing; I'm getting pretty sick of this attitude that being gay is like something you can be persuaded to be! Where you persuaded to be heterosexual? I sure wasn't! I was born within me, a heterosexual disposition. Never thought about being gay or "investigating" a gay life style, it NEVER occurred to me! I'm sure if you are heterosexual, you never made a conscious decision about it. With that being said; Do you really believe that someone who is gay is that way by a choice in life style? Think about it. If you didn't choose to be heterosexual, what makes you think someone chooses to be homosexual? As Ross Perot likes to say "That dog don't hunt!" Plain and simple!

Alright then...Am I the only one who has about had it with the whole Middle East thing. Am I the only one who questions how many more Husbands, Sons, Daughters, and Wives we as Americans are willing to sacrifice in the name of Oil? As of late the Oil Families in the Middle East have decided to use Oil as a political tool against the world, not that I blame them, but isn't the easiest way to resolve this problem is to become independent of oil? Of course the obvious obstacle is Big Money Oil Companies, they have billions and billions to loose if this would happen, but I can say...who gives a shit? As a Petroleum based society we have destroyed our air, depleted our land, and have paid a untold price in the 10's of thousands in lives JUST keep the oil coming. Not to mention (why do we always say that just before we mention something?), the 100 of thousands of people who die each year from asphyxiation (2nd hand smoke my ass!). Can we honestly believe as a educated and thoughtful society, that we can send people to the moon but we can figure out how to use solar power to move beyond the combustion engine? Sad isn't it? Of course the Government would have a hell of a time taxing the sun like they do for every gallon of gas we use in our cars, or oil, or natural gas we use to heat our homes, and I must say once again...to bad, I'm not interested. What I am interested in is ending the flow of blood to keep the government and oil companies rolling in money. Are their children, spouses, and parents sharing in this price we as Middle Class Americans are asked to pay? Me thinks not! Of course it seems ironic that because we as a country  are doing so well financially no one really cares, but some day this dream state will end and we will wake up and realize the long term price we have paid for a moment in time of ecstasy.

Ok here I go again! The first question on would most obviously ask "Who am I to question the authority and direction that our government takes?" Well let me tell you:

As an American citizen I pay close to 60% of my earnings in taxes.

How do I come up with that? Well let's look at it:

I pay a federal income tax. I pay a social security tax. For every gallon of gas or heating oil I buy I pay 50 cents in tax. I pay tax for cigarettes, if I am a drinker I pay tax there as well , I pay a property tax. If I buy a product I pay a tax, and if by some miracle I happen to save any money I PAY A TAX! I like all Americans fund this government and in so doing have a vested interest, I have a say in what happens. Any business who invests money in another has a say in how that business is run! Here's a little interesting fact:

Since publishing this page the IRS has suddenly taken a keen interest in me, in the form of an audit. Am I sensible enough to shut my mouth and kill this page? Fat chance boys!

So what's my rant? Oh where does one start? How about with where our government of the people, by the people, for the people, that seems to be perishing from the earth. Let's look at it, I mean when you have to have millions of dollars to run for president, governor, or senator of the United States, have we not digressed to a ruling class? Have we not returned to what a little over 220 years ago people shed their blood to abolish? Did these people die for nothing, was the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and both World Wars fought for naught? If we are to continue following the road we're on the only answer can be yes, and woe it will be for all of us, in the United States, in the world!

And how about the people who want to give American sovereignty a kick to the winds, what the hell is up with that? Let me say I am a great believer in free trade, and competition, locally, at the state level and at the world level. It gives us choices and competition and regulates fair pricing. What is unexcitable is giving power to people who have not been elected buy the people of the Untied  States to make decisions for the people of the Untied States! The Articles of the constitution clearly states: "Each state retains its sovereignty, freedom, and independence.." As a people we have the power, the right and a duty to expel from our government those who jeopardize us as a nation of free people. Election is our weapon and one we had better start using. We cannot say  well there's no choice so why bother to take part in our government, why bother to vote?

Fore there are few things that are wholly evil or wholly good. Almost everything, especially of government policy, is an inseparable compound of the two; so that our best judgment of the preponderance between them is continually demanded." 

I truly feel that what Abraham Lincoln said was way ahead of it's time:

At what point then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time, or die by suicide......"  

Ok I'm finished...for now, and I must say...I feel much better!
