"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled
and do not be afraid"
John 14:27
Four Little Words: "I Think I'm Pregnant" ~*~ I had never been in this situation before, and I just couldn't believe it. I felt so alone... ~*~ All I wanted to do was run away. I've always been careful to plan out my life, but I never planned a pregnancy! I remember crying for hours, then thinking I couldn't cry anymore. Then it would start all over again. I felt so stupid. It was like some kind of bad dream. I just wanted it to go away. ~*~ I kept telling myself I couldn't be pregnant. I thought it wouldn't happen to me. I didn't want anyone to know, but I needed help. I didn't even want my boyfriend to know. What if he left me? I just kept telling myself, "This is not real. You can't have a baby. You can't have a baby!" ~*~ I felt so alone. So alone....... "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from
Him." It only takes a minute for your life to change. In one brief moment, all your plans, your dreams, your hoped-for future can vanish. Four little words, "I think I'm pregnant," and your world is turned upside down. This is the worst crisis of your life, and it seems there is no one you can turn to. Is there any way to find peace when your life is in total turmoil? No matter how serious your problem, or how upset you feel, there is hope for you. You can find peace and the strength to make it through this difficult situation! "You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your
word." Why There Is Still Hope It may be difficult to believe right now, but there is hope-hope for your life, hope for you in every way. You may think God doesn't want anything to do with you, or that you've made too many mistakes for Him to love you, but God DOES love you, just the way you are. This is usually hard for most people to believe because we have all done things we are deeply ashamed of, and we can't imagine God being able to love us in spite of everything. But when we look at what the Bible says about who God is and how He operates, we begin to understand how this is possible. "But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in
you." God Wants You To Have Hope No matter what your situation is, you don't have to face it alone. You don't have to be overwhelmed with confusion or hopelessness. God is with you now, ready to give you the hope you need. "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on
him in truth." Find Support You need other people to listen, to understand, to support you, and to help you. It's foolish to try and deal with your life without the help of others. You will be surprised how much it helps to talk to somebody. If you haven't already, you can start now by finding one person you can tell your story to. Talk to someone you can trust, someone you can respect. Consider a friend, a family member, a teacher, a minister, someone at MOM's, (633-6464) or your local Pregnancy Center, anyone you can trust....It will make a difference. "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill
the law of Christ." Do What's Right If you want peace of mind, there is no substitute for doing what's right. Obeying God will bring a peace that can withstand almost any problem. You can't expect peace if you continually choose what's wrong. But doing what's right is not necessarily easy. Sometimes you don't know what is right; your situation may be complex; perhaps it involves options you've never had to think about before. At other times you know what is right but just don't want to do it. In either case, reading the Bible will help you. It can help you know what to do and find the strength to do it. "There will be trouble and distress for every human being who
does evil... Put Your Life In God's Hands God wants you to have peace. He will give it to you if you trust in Him. This means to believe that His way is best and to surrender your life to Him. Trusting Jesus in this way is the only way to discover true and lasting peace. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, You Are Not Alone "When I found out I was pregnant, I felt so alone. I felt stupid. I didn't think God wanted anything to do with me. A close friend told me she was praying for me, but that didn't really make me feel any better. You see, I thought I had really disappointed everyone, even God. But then my friend gave me this poem, and it really did make me see that God wants to help me. I hope it makes you see that God wants to help you too."
