Importing and Exporting Digital ID's

To Export your digital ID:-

In Outlook Express 5
  1. Open Tools Menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Go to Security tab.
  4. Click on Digital IDs button in Secure Mail Section to open Certificate Manager.
  5. Highlight ID to be exported .
  6. Click Export Button.
  7. This will start export wizard.

In Internet Explorer 5

  1. Open Tools Menu.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Click on Content tab.
  4. Click on Certificates button.
  5. Highlight the ID to be exported.
  6. Click Export Button.
  7. This will start export wizard.

In Internet Explorer 4

  1. Open view menu.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Click on the Content tab.
  4. Click on Personal button.
  5. Highlight the ID to be exported.
  6. Click Export Button.
  7. This will start export wizard.

Export Wizard

  1. Click Next on first screen.
  2. Select Yes, export the private key and click Next.
  3. Select Personal Information Exchange and if Outlook Express 5 tick enable strong protection and click Next.
  4. Enter and confirm password and click Next.
  5. Type filename for exported ID, the format is *.pfx e.g. a:\digitalid.pfx.
  6. Click finish.
  7. Close Certificate Manager.

To Import your Digital ID:-

In Outlook Express 5
  1. Open Tools Menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Go to Security tab.
  4. Click on Digital IDs button in Secure Mail Section to open Certificate Manager.
  5. Click Import Button.
  6. This will Start Import Wizard.

In Internet Explorer 5

  1. Open Tools Menu.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Click on Content tab.
  4. Click on Certificates button.
  5. Click Import Button.
  6. This will Start Import Wizard.

In Internet Explorer 4

  1. Open view menu.
  2. Click on Internet Options.
  3. Click on Content tab.
  4. Click on Personal button.
  5. Click Import Button.
  6. This will Start Import Wizard.

Import Wizard

  • Click next on first screen.
  • Type in filename of ID to be imported, the format is *.pfx e.g. a:\digitalid.pfx or Click on     Browse to search Hard Drive or Floppy for ID, then click Next.
  • Type password for digital ID, tick both boxes and click Next.
  • Select Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate and click     Next.
  • Click Finish.
  • Close Certificate Manager.
  • Press OK on Options.
