Alfred Bestall, one of my favorite artists, lived his life in  Beddgelert ,  Wales in Snowdonia region, which is very beautiful

I wish I could live somewhere like that !

Most of my favorite picture book artists lived in nice areas like this.

What I like about his version of Rupert in the London Daily Express is how it begins all homely, but it then becomes very adventurous with cool mysteries, high-adventure, and cosmic mystical stuff.  Bestall's version went from ~ 1933 to 1965.  Alfred Bestall’s Rupert is superior to the other artists who picked up the serial.  They could never capture the his magic.

HRH Prince of Wales, Terry Jones, and Paul McCartney liked his work too.  I have decided to give some samples of his works
