I have been pen palling since i was 17 or 18. I am now
35 yrs old. My first few pen pals were
Kelly B, Denise O. & Amy B. I still keep in contact
with all three of them. I met them through F.B.'s.
I copied this from shelley's page.
What is an F.B.?
Friendship Books Friendship Books (FB's) are small booklets that are passed along from one person to another
via postal mail. Everybody puts their name, address and info in the FB and when it is full the last signer returns it
to the person it was made for.
Making Friendship Books Okay, here's an FB making tutorial to get you started. Remember, FB's come
in all shapes and sizes so just be creative!
Take a piece of colored paper or cardboard of 10x14 cm and fold it
in half:
Use three pieces of white paper, size 6x9 cm, and staple them in
the inside like you see on the image below
Now it's time to determine who you are making the FB for. You need to include the following information: *
for who the FB is (name, address, email) * by who the FB is (your name, address, email, info) * the date it was made
I
usually print it on a sheet, cut it out and glue it into the left page on the inside of your FB. It should look something
like this:
Now you're ready for the fun part - decorating the front cover! Use stickers, origami paper, pictures, clippings,
confetti, glitter, whatever you like! Use your imagination!
When you're done, for the best effect use sticky back plastic
to cover (seal) both the front and the inside where the addresses are. FB's travel far and go through a lot of hands so that
keeps them looking neat and tidy!
Now you're ready to send your FB to the first person! Add it to a letter to one of your penpals, look for a new swapper in the Swapper Ads or join a swapping group at Yahoo. Since FB's are passed on via regular mail, it's useful to remember to not make them
too large (they must fit in a regular envelope), too heavy, or with too many pages (otherwise they'll take ages to get
full).
