  • SPACE JUMP BOOTS
Go through the passageway after the elevator and you'll be in, "Tallon Canyon." Remember now, we're looking for a half-pipe, and lo and behold, there's one right in front of you. Use the Boost Ball to get up on the ledge, then, cross the wooden/tree bridge and use your Morph Ball Bomb to get through the passageway. This will take you to the, "Landing Site." Hop across, and enter the, "Alcove." You've earned the SPACE JUMP BOOTS. Now you have a double jump ("B" and "B"). Go ahead and save on your Ship.
  • Now, you'll get some incoming scan data telling you to head back to, "Phendrana Drifts, Chapel of the Elders." Work your way there, via, "Magmoor Caverns," etc.
  • WAVE BEAM
Okay, so now you're back in, "Phendrana Shorelines." You're trying to get to the door that is up above in the large stone structure (castle thingy) that you can see. Now that you have the Jump Boots you can make it there. So, go up the snow platforms on the wall. Except this time, instead of going through the door right there, look towards the stone structure and you'll see two hovering platforms. Use those to jump across. Go through the door. This will lead to the, "Chozo Ice Temple." Work your way up the platforms. You'll get to a large statue/fountain and there is an iron gate on the right. The iron gate, when Scanned, says that it depicts a Shaman. Scan around the area and you'll see some other depictions. Find the one that is also a Shaman, and shoot a Missile at it. This is a Morph Ball Slot. Go up in it and place a bomb. The iron gate is now open. Go the Morph Ball puzzle thing, and you'll be in the, "Chapel of the Elders." Approach the WAVE BEAM. You'll now have to fight some little dudes and then the big guy, Sheegoth, will come out. Avoid his attacks. After he uses his purple breath attacks, he'll be winded and you can hit him in the mouth with Missiles. Repeat. Yay! Pick up the WAVE BEAM.
  • SUPER MISSILE
Now that you have the Wave Beam, we can open the Wave Beam Door in, "Ice Ruins West." So, head there. Hop up the blocks that are provided for you and you'll get to a seemingly dead end, but, there is a large hanging glacier/icicle with a crack in it. Shoot it with your Missile. Now, jump up onto it and work your way around. Enter the Wave Beam Door. This will lead to the, "Ruined Courtyard." Look around a little, and you'll get an incoming data scan. Basically, we have to get to the, "Research Core."
  • On each side of this area, "Ice Ruins West," you'll see a slot for your Morph Ball to fit into a sort of spinning machine. Roll into each one and use "B" to power up, then, repeat. Do this again and again until the machine is activated. What you've done here is open the four valves so that water can come in. So, go up to the now activated Morph Ball Slot and activate it. Water will come rushing down, raising the floating platforms, temporarily. Hop all the way across and get an ENERGY TANK. Reactivate it (and don't go all the way across this time) instead, get to the stationary platform and jump and work your way up. At the top, you have your choice of 3 doors: a blue (any beam), a grey (missile) and a purple (wave beam). Go through the Wave Beam door. Proceed and you'll get to the, "Research Entrance." You'll have to fight some bad dudes. Then, go into the room on your right. It's a Map Room! Exit, and use the ramp to go up and to the next Wave Beam door. Deactivate the Force Field (Scan the Blue Switch) and you'll be in, "Research Lab Hydra." Do lots of Scanning. You'll also have to kill some more bad monsters. Find the Blue Switch and activate it. It'll give you a little elevator. Take it up, and continue on. More monsters, more Scanning. Soon, you'll get to another seemingly dead end. Look up, there is a Beam Door above you. Open it and jump through. Soon, you'll be in the, "Observatory." Kill the monsters and you'll get a cutscene, showing you a Blue Switch. Go down and activate it. Also, do some Scanning. This will activate a Morph Ball Slot. Go up there and activate it. This will activate another Morph Ball Slot, do the same. Now, you'll see that at the base of the projector, you have 4 Spin Slots to go in. Now, work your way up the platforms...there are some pretty hard/long jumps here, so just be patient and you'll make it...there's no secret. So, get up as far as you can go, and in the middle, you'll find SUPER MISSILE. There is a Save Room behind you. Enter and Save. Exit the save room and go into the door straight across from you.
  • THERMAL VISOR
Work your way to the, "West Tower;" activate the elevator. Go up and you'll have to fight some nasty dudes to get through the door. Do so. Activate and go down the elevator. Soon, you'll be in, "Research Lab Aether." You're gonna have to fight some more bad dudes (if the little jellyfish sucky thing gets on you, go into Morph Ball and bomb it). Then, scan, scan, scan. Work your way down, and you'll see an area where you can jump to, then Morph Ball in order to get a MISSILE EXPANSION. Continue working your way down, scanning. Drop through the Wave Beam door on the floor and you'll be in the, "Research Core." This is where we've been trying to get to. You're gonna get the THERMAL VISOR here, but, it's guarded by a forcefield. Do some scanning on the various levels of this room and you'll eventually deactivate the forcefield. If the forcefield won't come down, it means you still have something to scan. Hop up and grab the THERMAL VISOR. Fight 2 bad guys. There is a door at the bottom, where you are, but you need the Ice Beam to open it, so, head back up through the door that you came through...you have to shoot the little glowing thing by the door to get power back to it...you can only see the glowing thing with your Thermal Visor. Start backtracking out. Go ahead and Save in the save room. As you backtrack out, you'll get another incoming scan data telling you to head to the, "Quarantine Cave." Head there.
  • FIGHT THARDUS (BOSS) - SPIDER BALL
So, we're on our way to, "Quarantine Cave." Head back to the, "Ruined Courtyard." If you remember, the last time we were in the, "Ruined Courtyard," we had a choice of three doors. We choose the Beam Wave door. Now, hop on over to the Missile Door, use a Missile, and go in. It's a Save Room. Yay! Now, exit out, and go across to the Any Beam door. Scan it, and you'll be told that this door has no power. Step back and look above the door. Scan it and you'll see that it says that this Cordite statue is weathered and worn. Fire a SUPER MISSILE at it (Charge Beam + "Y"), then, once it's destroyed, shoot a Wave Beam at it. This will power the door. Now, proceed to the, "Quarantine Cave." Cutscene and Boss time. You have to fight Thardus, the Stone Monster. Turn on your Thermal Visor and you'll see a red/orange weak point. Lock onto this spot and fire rapidly at it with your Power Beam, shooting Missiles at it while you go around in circles. Soon enough, your Thermal Visor will overload. This lets you know that you can target that area in Combat Visor (normal) mode. It's a little easier to avoid his attacks this way. When you destroy that piece of him, re-enter into Thermal Visor and find the next weak spot on him. Repeat this. He are his attacks: when you see him reach up and then slam the ground, that's his frozen attack...it'll freeze you, use "B" to side jump and shoot a missile while you jump. It's fun. When you see him start rolling around, enter into Morph Ball and use your Boost to avoid him. When he shoots rocks at you, just try to stay locked onto the body part that you're currently attacking and just do circles. Some rocks will hit you, but whatever. When you kill him, you get the SPIDER BALL! Yes! Take the Spider Ball Path up and around so that you can exit through the Wave Beam (purple) door. This will lead to, "Transport to Magmoor Caverns South." Go down the elevator, and when you get down, blow up the Missile Door behind you. This is a Save room. Save! You do not want to fight Thardus again (this actually happened to me...I beat Thardus, didn't save, then died. Me mad!). Do some wandering around and exploring until you receive the next incoming data scan which tells you that you need to go to the, "Antechamber." It looks like you get there through the, "Furnace." So, head out to Chozo Ruins and make your way to the, "Furnace." I'll meet you there.
