The situation intensifies at Fallin & Assoc. when Burton Fallin decides to bring in a new partner, former Senator Nathan
Caldwell and his associate Mitchell Lichtman. Upon their arrival, Nathan and Mitchell point out a conflict with one of Nick's
primary clients, Kenneth Van Gergen. The two of them possess inside government knowledge about a piece of land that Nick is
helping Kenneth purchase. To avoid losing the client, Nick strikes a deal with Mitchell that keeps Nathan and Mitchell out
of the loop on the current land deal, but cuts Mitchell in on future business with Kenneth. In an effort to keep himself in
the political game, Jake reaches an agreement with Mitchell to turn over future business with Wade Meyers if Mitchell backs
him on some public securities work, which Jake is not allowed to participate in as a result of his recent corporate law violations.
However, the tables are turned dramatically when Nick reveals to Burton that Mitchell gave up the legislative secrets he was
supposed to protect. Back at Legal Services, Nick helps Lulu investigate her suspicion of abuse at a nursing home where her
grandmother is injured in an alleged fall.
