Without completing the outpatient rehab program, Nick decides to check out and begin making amends with the people
in his life he has let down. He begins by visiting Alvin and insisting on driving him to work, followed by having an
awkward interaction with Lulu at Legal Services. Later that day, Nick and Alvin are
both shocked when they find out a city bus crashed and killed six passengers, while leaving 15 injured. Coincidentally, this
was the same bus that Alvin was going to take if Nick hadn't driven him to work. Back at Fallin &
Fallin, Nick approaches Burton and tells him he wants to take the case involving the crash. Burton
hesitates, not feeling Nick's up to the responsibility yet, but caves and lets him represent the African American bus
driver who may have caused this accident.
