My formal work in Prilep was in the Economic School. There I started a Junior Achievement program, teaching free market
economy to first year high school students. In this program the students started a company,
elected a board of directors, produced, marketed and sold a product and then liquidated the company just before the close of
the school year. We made an excellent start and the kids enjoyed the process.
I also taught English to students, teachers and neighbors. Unfortunately, I began a number of projects and
activities which I could not complete because of our evacuation from Macedonia when the
Serbian war began. I'll always feel sad about this and wonder about the what may have beens. My tenure in Prilep was less
than a year.
Had the war not intervened, it would have been a full two years.
