Biographical sketch/Administrative History

The Township of Minto, Wellington County, Ontario, was incorporated effective January 1, 1857 through a County By-law under the terms of the Baldwin Act, Chapter 81, Canada Statutes, 1849.

Scope and content   
The fonds consists of parish registers containing statistical records, Vestry minutes, and a financial register. The fonds has been microfilmed on 2 reels, numbered 29 and 30. Some of the records for this church pertaining to earlier dates are found with the fonds for other churches. See the finding aid. The records for this church found with the fonds for other churches have been microfilmed on one reel, numbered 13.   
   
Biographical sketch/Administrative History   
The church was built during the incumbency of Rev. William Massey, 1883-1886, was consecrated in 1886, and sold in 1945. Parish Register G contains information on the deconsecration and the removal of church property.
The Church of the Ascension always shared a rector with St. George's in Harriston, Ont. and Christ Church in Drew, Ont.

Title based on content of fonds.
Fonds on deposit. Ownership of the fonds resides with the Church of the Ascension.

Fonds consists of personal marriage register of Rev. Alfred Yeoman, 1948-1961, for Tillsonburg, 1948-1952, 1957-1959; Middleton Twp., 1948-1949, 1951, 1953-1956; Ingersoll, 1953-1956; N. Walsingham Twp., 1950, 1953-1954. Also includes two other entries by other ministers for Kintore, 1960; and Delhi, 1961.

Biographical sketch/Administrative History 
Alfred Yeoman (1876-1959) was a Methodist minister in the U.S. and Ontario. He was born in Devonshire, England. After his marriage to Jane May Adams he moved to the United States in 1906. He was ordained in the Methodist Episcopalian Church in New Jersey in 1908. He came to Canada in 1913 and served at Lynedoch, Clifford, Stevensville, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Aberfoyle, Teeterville and Courtland. He was retired at Tillsonburg, 1948-1952; Ingersoll, 1953-1956; and again at Tillsonburg, 1957 until his death.
