Sleepless in Fulham: Rambling and gambling by David Young

Long view.
Topic: Poker

Keep in mind that this is just one floor! There's another floor above this one which is almost as big and there's also a Kalooki room, which can be used for poker if required.

I've talked to one of the partners in the business and was pleasantly surprised to hear him agree that limit games would be the best way to increase the market. How to achieve the critical mass for this will be the hard part. He agreed with me that creating a new player base is essential, as both Gutshot and the Victoria have their own loyal player base who are unlikely to switch for social reasons, as well as convenience.

Let's wish them well with this new venture.

Name: Lets come out of denial

Well you have surpassed yourself.
You said there were WMD's in iraq.
You said Saddaam was directly connected to 9-11.
you said that Iraq wasn't gonna be another Vietnam.
you said GWB was/is a great President.
you said omaha was a dying game.
you said Limit was going to take over the world.
Now you are giving a shameless plug to an establishment run owned/run by gangsters-ask Jamie Posner....

your judgement is immaculate as always.

I did think it likely that there was WMD in Iraq, but that was far from the only reason for my support. Given that there was a very long lead time before the war, it's easily possible that WMD was hidden well or moved to Syria. But as I've pointed out before, the Dulfer report (haven't got time to check the spelling) made it perfectly clear that Saddam had thoroughly corrupted the system that was designed to contain him. Have you seen how many people have been proved to have taken bribes from him? Check out the oil for food scandal. Saddam was confident that he would be able to bribe his way out of sanctions (as stated in the report) and had kept together the capability to resume a WMD programme. READ THE REPORT. It makes it clear that we would eventually have been facing a nuclear Iraq, even if we weren't already.

I don't think I ever said that Saddam was directly connected to the 9/11 attack.

Iraq isn't another Vietnam. There is no conscription, the casualties are MUCH MUCH smaller.

GWB is a great president, precisely because he's prepared to take the unpopular decisions that don't yield instant results.

Omaha is a dying game. Where are the 50 omaha games in the Vic? How often do you see more omaha games than hold'em games there?

I never said that limit would take over the world. I said that it SHOULD be promoted here.

I don't know what Jamie Posner thinks about the Western's owners. I've met him a few times in the last year and he never volunteered a word about it.
