A Buddhist

I have jumped into the river
off a tall boat that was sinking,
letting it all go
to hopefully find you....
swimming alongside a shore.
You have traveled from all the way
around the world.
And now Home,
in a distant land
treading water next to an abandoned island.
I have moved myself
in a small raft to a new life
and wait to hear from you
so I can begin to settle into what I seek,
true love comes first in this destiny.
You know where to find me.

Dreamworld

I have buried myself in my dreams,
soft beds of make-believe
where you live silently, softly,
where there is privacy.
You seek that same place
in a blanket you've wrapped around your head
in a public you cannot stand.
You are sleeping! ...
sleeping in front of the world
while walking to work.
At least we have that world.

Social Grace

I cannot treat you
any differently
than someone I would fall in love with
anywhere,
anyway,
you have to be a part of my today,
and tomorrow,
the way I would live it anyhow.
I cannot deny that you are special
but I need the same things from you
I would need from a common love,
and what I ask from you is to be that-
to fall from grace to find it.

My Guide

I have gone into hiding
with one person to guide me.
An angel made of imagination
who may help me unlock this mystery
with the golden key
to your mask-
To your world you have presented to me.
You are drowning in drones
and those who want to take everything.
I am only here to set you free....
and to help you finally make
what is hardest for you to do,
a decision or choice
on what is best for you.
I want to help you design your destiny.

The Test

I have given you the clues,
all of the information on how to pass
this test in time
that has finally given way to another life.
This path has cross'd with a world or women,
peasents pretending to be something grande
and men locked inside a prison
of how to beat this man...
how to win thier wives back.
True love waits inside this world,
on the outside of the fence,
standing on the brick wall, on the other side,
waving white flags of freedom.
I will wait here for you.

An Opera

I wait on an altar of silence
and confess myself to an unknown angel,
waiting to see you
placed before me in honesty.
Romance has taken me,
I feel a calm kiss
from an essence,
a light wave of better days.
The worst has found us
and soon will pass,
and onto new feelings
that I need to express,
and I know I haven't.
I have to be strong through it all
but beneath my shell
lies everything sweet you have looked for.
As you take baby steps forward
I will quietly celebrate you to myself
in talk such as "honey" and "sweetie,"
precious titles to which our future may contain.
It ain't over till the fat lady sings.

Ode to a Mystery

You have become a bright mystery,
a piece of complexity that gives way to new days,
you are part of me now
in these games I play.
You helped to make the board
and I come to your house as a chesspiece,
a pawn turned rook
with the aims as a queen,
I need to figure out this slow process
of evaluation and testing.
If I pass this site of word-play given victory,
then I will know when I solved the mystery.
A stale-mate of reason wound around
a checkerboard floor
and a vision I had of talking to you before.

Ping Pong.....May 15, 1999

Ping pong-
"I love you,
I love you not"
and if you write me
I'll scream (inside).
Directly touch me
at 13:24 and 13:52
and I'll scratch dots of color together
to see you.
Nothing fancy.
Just black and white writing.
Still experiencing Jeopardy,
could dissappear any day now-
and within a month
my address will change
and I won't give it to you again.

The Metamorphasis

I have sought reality
in your imagery-
I needed to see what lies
beyond the doorsof the movie screen,
I needed to finally see
what my role may be.
I now climb into that screen
in careful attempts to communicate
with a television turned computer
and an interactive monitor.
I guess I help create the story.
But now my dreams
have given way to a human quality
in your star,
that your bright light
has turned to mistakes and imperfection,
that you are in my world of interaction.
I loved you because you may be different,
but now I love you
because you may be the same.
