Brown Teds

Many of the bears on this page are shown in their original pictures from e-bay.

Prince is a really nice older bear from Princess soft toys. he has a very sweet, shy expression and the loveliest airbrushed rosy cheeks

A GORGEOUS bear by Avanti Applause that I admired at Lenox Toy and Hobby Shop in the early 80's (1985?)and of course could never buy---he was in the $60 range and I was but a mere pre-teen. But, good things come to those who wait, and he is mine from e-bay for $4.25.

Mr. Bully BigBottom

At the time of this writing I am still waiting for Mr. BigBottom to arrive from England.

Finally! He has arrived.

Here he is, Bully BigBottom, esq. A lady in England with the last name of Bull sold him to me. I am currently working on finding out a little history on him.

He appears to be an old carnival prize, as he is stuffed with the customary minute-size foam pellets and has inexpensive plush and a hang loop on the back of his head.

Upon inquiring about his history to his former owner, I received this lovely reply:

I have just taken a look at Bully Bigbottom on your terrific website ! He looks great and very much at home !
I cannot really tell you anything much about his history except that hubby and I aquired him at an auction being held in a small town called Brigg in Licolnshire on the South Bank of the River Humber ( we live on the North Bank, and have to go over the worlds longest single span bridge namely The Humber Bridge, to get there, that is until the Japanese built one slightly longer recently ), anyway back to Bully Bigbottom, so there he was, sitting astride a 1950's Mobo Rocking horse and after my successful bid on the odd couple, we duly transported them both to our home and my husband Steve totally renovated the rocking horse and I sold it on Ebay to a lady in America who bought it for her little grand-daughter. I can only think that Bully Bigbottom may have been won as a prize many years ago ( probably 1960's ) at a fair called HULL FAIR, it is Englands largest fair that takes place once a year on the first weekend of October, all the smaller fairs that tour Europe during the rest of the year gather together to form the huge one and people from all over England attend this fair, and I would certainly imagine that Bully BigBottom has his origins there.
I hope this helps Liz and Thank You for letting me see him looking so happy in his new home !!
My Kindest Regards
Barbara

Henry

This is a very big, wonderfully fuzzy ted, probably made in the 70's. His former name was Henry, so I left it as is.

I really love this guy. At the time of this writing Henry rides around in the front seat of my car.

Teeny Little Super Guy was found on the floor at  Wal-Mart and I just picked him up and put him in my pocket since I was in the magazine section at the time...

Squirt

This little guy is all done with a day of fishing, complete with his own little waders!

Made by Dakin in the early 80's.

 Biscuit & Lil' Gravy

Another winner of a gift from the ol' husband. Lil' Gravy is permanently attached to Biscuit's paw, and I like to make Steve crack up by "puppeteering" Biscuit to make him look like he's trying to fling Lil' Gravy off his hand.

They are from the Fall 2000 plush line from Target, made by Hug-A-Plush.

Freeway

On the way to work one morning I found this little guy sitting helplessly in the middle of the road. A quick u-turn and a daring lean out the open car door and he was mine.On his chest it reads, "Class of '86". He now wears his own little backpack in case another adventure should arise.

Hunchy

Hunchy was bought at Wal-Mart, Christmas '99. And this is not a good photo of him--he is much prettier. I call Hunchy my first real "acceptance bear" , because when my husband and I first moved into our home, Hunchy mysteriously disappeared from the Bear Room and reappeared out on a little stool in the den, and I wasn't responsible.....
