Blair McMillin
: I graduated with Honors from Princeton U in 1957 and from the U of Pgh Law School (Law Review) in 1960. After high school, I became a member of Teamsters Local #635 which provided me with summer work in area warehouses all thru law school. My first job after graduation was in the icehouse at the foot of Center Ave..a breakaway railroad car crashed into the car in which I was loading ice. All the bones in the left foot were broken and badly dislocated...end of football!  After law school, I was employed by Reed, Smith, Shaw and McClay where I served as the Director of Legal Personnel for 5 years and the Head of the Environmental Law Section for 15..my work involved a wide variety of civil litigation.  From 1971 on I represented USS, Bethlehem, Armco, Sharon, Crucible and the American Iron and Steel Association in many cases that shaped environmental law. The most important trial matters were 2 lengthy contempt of court cases brought by the EPA against the Clairton Coke Works.  Nationally, my most significant case was in the Supreme Court supporting the EPA's "air bubble" rule where our argument sustained the rule.  I married Judy Jones from Bradford, PA in August of 1960. I met her while working as a waiter in a boarding house complex (the Graystone) on Ellsworth Ave (Good morning Miss Jones, orange or tomato juice?). We have 3 children; Barbara Ann, who works for the Carnegie Mellon computer education system, Douglas, who lives in Basalt, CO and is a construction project manager and the sales rep for a secondary word processor, and James, who is Downs Syndrome and works as a janitor at Canivan High School.  Judy and I have lived in Edgewood on Race St, in Churchill on Forest Drive and for the last 31 years in Mt.
