The Cloud Game

by

L.C. Gerstenfeld

Up on a hilltop, I lie in the grass

With the summer breeze blowing

I watch the clouds pass.

Shapes of fluffy blue and white

The sky overhead

Is a wondrous sight.

zzzz

Ever changing patterns of things to see.

A parade of wonders

The clouds blow free.

A cavalry of horsemen and shining knights,

In far way times

In the shimmering light.

zzzz

A menagerie of creatures big and small

Thundering elephants to little frogs,

A zoo in the clouds, to be seen by all.

Mystical creatures come along

 Fire breathing dragons and unicorns

Gently blown by the wind’s song.

zzzz

The birds in sky, the clouds they share,

Puffs of white

In the heavens so fair.

The cloud game a favorite of mine to play,

Imagined worlds above

 On a bright summers day.

The Child and the Fairies
Author Unknown

The woods are full of fairies!
The trees are all alive;
The river overflows with them,
See how they dip and dive!
What a funny little fellows!
What dainty little dears!
They dance and leap, and prance and peep,
And utter fairy cheers!
I'd like to tame a fairy,
To keep it on a shelf,
To see it wash its little face,
And dress its little self.
I'd teacher it pretty manners,
It always should say "Please";
And then you know I'd make it sew,
And curtsey with its knees!
