The guitars whined for a second before the drumbeat kicked in *bu-bum-bu-bu-bu-bu-bum* and the vocals started up.
*Susanne, you're all that I wanted of a girl*
Spike snatched a couple pillows off the settee, pressing them over his ears, and let out an aggravated growl. She had played that same bleeding song thirty-six times now ... at first it was almost catchy but now all he wanted to do was ram the CD down her throat.
‘DUCKS!' He bellowed over the music in Drusilla's general direction.
She was sitting quietly in the corner, playing with Miss Daisy and Rose.
It didn't seem to be bothering her ... though how it couldn't Spike had
no idea, ‘DRU!'
Drusilla looked up at Spike and smiled, ‘Yes Spike?'
‘How can you stand, 'he pointed at Regan's door with a pillow, ‘THAT?!?
It's driving me loopy!'
Drusilla tilted her head a little and listened to the song ...
*I'm your child, make me blush ... Susanne ...*
‘It's a pretty song,' Dru cooed as she started to bob her head to the
beat and sway back a forth a bit, ‘Like the songs on the jukebox in Memphis,'
she smiled up at Spike, ‘Do you remember Memphis Spike? All the wonderful
music ... and the silly little doggies on the girls skirts ... and the
...'
‘Yeah yeah yeah Ducks, I remember. Doesn't it bother you though?' he
looked over his shoulder at Regan's bedroom door, shaking his head, ‘She
must be cutting a rut in that CD!'
Dru shook her head and started to sing along.
‘AAARGH!!!!!' Spike let out a bellow, storming towards the offending
music, ‘Traitors ...' he mumbled under his breath, ‘traitors every single
one of ‘em ...'
Spike threw the heavy steel door to Regan's quarters open with a slam - his face set in a grrrr-ful glower - and stepped into the room. Regan was no where to be seen but he could hear her voice, singing along, in the little alcove where her bed was. Spike stomped through the sitting area, crushing a plate of nachos that had been left on the floor and leaving big boot marks on various articles of clothing strewn around the room as he did. He threw the second steel door open, ready to ream his daughter out ... but stopped dead in his tracks when he saw her.
Regan was standing on her big white and pink bed in her knickers and a bra - dancing along to the music as if she was one of the Sherelles - and singing into her hair brush. Her long white hair was up in two, long, high pigtail, bouncing back and forth behind her as she sung lovingly into the full-length mirror at the end of her bed. It was beyond adorable.
Spike couldn't help but crack a little smirk as he watched her wiggle her fanny and jump about the bed, all the time doing little choreographed movements to the words.
I'm your child ... *hands over her heart* ... make me blush
... *hands over her cheeks and giggle* ... drive me wi-ild ...
*a little wiggle and two- handed wave almost definately nicked from
The Temptations or Diana Ross* Susanne ...
Spike found himself laughing as she continued ... the anger from a moment ago quickly being replaced by amusement. Out of the corner of her eye, Regan noticed Spike standing in the doorway as the CD player stopped for a second to repeat the song, and ... without missing a beat ... turned to face her adoptive father and started singing to him like she had been to the mirror a second before. She gave him a little come-hither pout and extra wiggle as she did her little routine during the chorus. Spike couldn't help but laugh ... *always the cut up ... the little nutter*
*Gimme the coat off your back ... Susanne ... you're all that I wanted of a girl ...*
Drusilla stepped up behind Spike, slipping her arms around his waist and laying her cheek against the back of his arm. He could feel her giggle through his shirt as Regan continued her little performance. A moment later Lucius walked in.
Regan did another little wiggle then jumped off her bed and started stepping towards the three to the beat. She reached out and grabbed Spike and Lucius' chins, giving them a little squeeze and looking very melodramatic and pained ...
*I haven't much I can give you in return ...* she spun around and pressed her back up against Spike, looking up into his eyes with her hand over her heart ... *only my heart and a promise not to turn (never turn) ...*
Drusilla started laughing as Regan stepped away ... gave a little swivel and pointed at Spike with a overly-dramatic earnest look on her face ...
*Susanne ... I'm your man*
‘Spike ...' Dru giggled, ‘let's dance ...'
Spike smirked - suddenly in a wonderful mood - grabbing Dru's hand and quickly spinning her out into the room before pulling her up close to him and leading her around the room in a gentle sway. Regan reached out for Lucius' hand, pulling a little jive move Spike had taught her before pressing up close to her dearest friend and starting to dance. The four creatures spun and danced and giggled their way around the room. Regan couldn't help but smile when Spike started mouthing the words of the song to Dru as they danced into the main room.
*Susanne ... you're all that I wanted of a girl ... you're all that I need in the world ... *
About two repeats later, Dru lifted her head off of Spike's shoulder and whispered something in his ear with a sly little smile. The platinum vamp looked down at his girlfriend, giving her a little smirk, and started leading them towards their bedroom door. Regan and Lucius didn't even notice as the two vamps swayed their way out of the room and disappeared for nearly three repeats of the song.
*I'm your child make me blush ... Drive me wiii-iiild ...*
Spike stuck his head out into the livingroom and gave Regan a little nod to come over to him.
‘Yeah?'
‘Mop, can we borrow that CD for a while?'
Regan gave Spike a little look - raising an eyebrow - then a little
smirk started to curl up at the corner of her mouth, ‘Why?'
‘Just give me the bloody CD ... I bought it didn't I?'
‘Fine,' she shrugged and ran for her bedroom. The music stopped a second
later and Regan ran back out of her room with the CD in hand. She passed
it to Spike, who gave her a quick ;thank you' peck on the forehead and
then disappeared behind the door.
Regan looked back at Lucius in mock-disgust.
‘Quick change of heart there eh?' she said, walking back to him.
He nodded, smirking, ‘Um ... ah ... oui.'
The song started up again from the other side of the door. Regan and Lucius stood side by side for nearly the entire length of the song ... looking at the door, looking at each other, looking at the door ...
‘Do you want to go to the bar?'
‘Oui si-vous plait!' Lucius replied just a little too quickly. His
long white face turning just a little red.
Regan grabbed a pair of pants off the back of a chair and hopped into
them as they headed for the sewer access.
‘Don't you need une chemise chere?'
‘I don't think so ... do you think we should tell them we're leaving?'
Regan and Lucius gave each other a split second look then quickly shook
their heads,
‘Non I think they'll figure it out.'
‘Me too.'
‘I think we should go.'
‘Uh yeah.'
‘Oui.'
Yeah.'
‘Okay.'
‘They've just ruined that song for me now you know.'
‘Just move Regan.'
*You're all that I wanted of a girl! YAH!*
