| Decompression
Decompression is very important in the process. General knowledge is that decompression controls drooling however, it has so much to do with stabilizing the entire process... Points not looked at for improperly set decompression
Decompression controls so much more than drooling at the nozzle. It also controls shot recovery, cushion, fill time and fill pattern which in turn can cause shorts and flash. Decompression also plays a role in part esthetics. The screw needs to decompress to the proper amount to shut off the check ring. This ensures that the shot is densitized properly. Too much decompression can cause aeration which will produce bubbles, cold slugs, etc. |
