LOS ANGELES, July 10, 2003 – Karen Cliche, who most recently starred as tough and beautiful Mackenzie Previn in the syndicated action series Adventure, Inc., has been signed to star as a series regular in Tribune Entertainment’s successful action hour MUTANT X, returning for its third season in national syndication the week of September 29, 2003. Cliche will play Lexa Pierce, an intriguing new character with a shadowy past. Like the members of the Mutant X team, Lexa was also the unwitting subject of genetic experimentation gone awry and as a result, has special powers that allow her to manipulate light in amazing ways.

Filled with action, suspense and state-of-the-art special effects, MUTANT X also stars Victor Webster, Victoria Pratt and Forbes March as members of Mutant X, a group of reluctant heroes who use their astonishing, and sometimes deadly powers in secret missions to help others when conventional methods fail.

Cliche’s series television credits include the MTV drama Undressed; the Muse Entertainment/Spelling Television series All Souls; and Fox Family’s Big Wolf on Campus. She co-starred with Adam Baldwin in the Francis Ford Coppola pilot Dr. Jekyll and & Mr. Hyde, and with Stephen Baldwin and Peter Gallagher in the made-for-television movie Protection. She has also appeared in a number of other TV movies, including Race Against Time with Eric Roberts.

On the big screen, Cliche appeared in Miramax’s fast-paced action thriller Steal, starring Stephen Dorff and Natasha Henstridge. She also starred in Summer, a feature film tribute to the filmmaking of John Hughes.

MUTANT X is produced by Mutant X Productions in association with Tribune Entertainment, Marvel Studios and Fireworks Entertainment.
