Cancer

A story to learn by . . .

When was the last time you have been checked?

My mom was 76 and my best friend and my Dad's true love for over 50 years of marriage.  She recently passed away.

She had cervical cancer, the rare tumor type.  When it was discovered, it was during Stage 3.  My Mom never went in for regular annual check ups for forty years.  A big mistake.

She had all her treatments (radiation, chemo) and they were successful.  At her three, six, and nine month checks she was cancer free.

Then after her nine month check, she started to feel crampy and weak. She had the runs and did not feel like eating.

They discovered she had preformatted tissue and a blocked kidney, a common result of the treatment.

Then she had one hemmorage followed by a second one five days later.  She passed away during a Northeaster Blizzard.

It does not matter what age you are, get checked on a regular basis. Get an annual PAP smear and if you are over 40, a mammogram.

Take care of yourself because you are important to many people.

My Mom was a kind and generous person.  She loved her only two grandchildren (my kids) and we all miss her very much.  May she rest in peace and be in a better place and pain free.

Thanks.
