Others
These are the characters who are playing fairly small roles, so they don't get a full
page to themselve, unless their roles expand in some way. Note that, due to the way
I tinker with the plot, some of the details may change without warning.
| King Edward Aphroa |
|
Age: 43
The king of Aphroa and Amelia and Karista's father. He was once a
feared warrior on the battlefield, which is how he received the nickname "Edward the
Bear." He loved his wife Kasha deeply, and received her love back tenfold, and after her
death began to withdraw into himself. Amelia became his only connection to reality.
However, despite his mournful demeanor, his skill as a warrior has not rusted, even
if his time spent fighting has greatly decreased.
|
| Queen Kasha Aphroa |
|
Age: 23(At time of death)
The late queen of Aphroa, and Amelia and Karista's mother. Very little
about her is known by the citizens of Aphroa, since her origins were purposely hidden by
Edward, who feared that his people would not accept her or their children if it became known
that she was born outside the mountains, due to the long war with the people who lived there
(Called Outsiders). She possessed a very headstrong spirit, which was not always apparent from
her regal bearings. She died of a mysterious illness (which, as Jacob revealed in Chapter 3,
only affected Outsiders; it had been long forgotten by most people of the mountains) while
giving birth to her twin daughters (whom she named herself), but in her last words, she
vowed to always watch over her children...

| Aron Sebenda |
|
Age: 26 (At time of death)
Michael's late father. A very well-known warrior with a reputation rivalling Edward's and a
long family history of serving Aphroa as a Sword Mage, he was a knight who's only weakness was
his love for his wife, Maria, and his son. Many stories are told of his brave deeds, but after the
death of his wife, he felt responsible because he was fighting in the war when she died. Aron
lay down his sword and vowed to never fight again, but soon afterwards, he tried to raise Michael
to carry on the family name and become a knight as well. However, three years following his
wife's death, Aron suddenly picked up his sword and left without saying where he was going. He
was later found near the border of Diteea, dead, covered in blood, dying on the battlefield
that had earned him his fame, having fought a battle that nobody even knew if he had won or lost.
|
| Maria Sebenda |
|
Age: 23 (At time of death)
Michael's late mother. She had been frail since birth and always sick. However, she had a
very fragile beauty and pure spirit that captivated Aron, and she admired his chivalristic
way of life, and they married when Maria was only 17. Maria lived her life loving both him
and her son, and never regretted even the fact that her husband was often away at battle.
She finally died at age 23, after a long battle with consumption.

| King Medias Diteea |
|
Age: 50
Medias, in his younger days, fought in many Outsider wars. Despite his strong magic abilities,
he often felt more comfortable using his sword. He has grown up with an intense hatred for
Outsiders, and while he doesn't quarrel often with King Edward, he thinks of him as weak for
not participating in as many conflicts and would rather they band together and eliminate the
people living close to the border mountains on the outside of the ring. He has tried to
ingrain this philosophy into his children, but with mild success. His sentiments, while echoed
by many in Diteea in particular, are beginning to fade. In the meantime, he has also tried
to groom his eldest son for the throne.
|
| Queen Raina Diteea |
|
Age: 48
Raina, in contrast to her husband, is not nearly as extreme. She is a strict disciplinarian
of her children, particularly Wynn, but is also quick to lend an ear. However, she tends to
pay more attention to Wynn, as he is the eldest and the crown prince, which means she'll dote
on him more, but also punish him harder. She does care deeply for her other children, but she
often feels pressure that Wynn be a great ruler and not disgrace her or the Diteean family
(she married into it).
|
| Crown Prince Wynn Diteea |
|
Age: 30
Wynn is extremely care-free, almost irresponsible, and has a reputation for being a womanizer.
He's never seen with the same girl twice, much to his mother's chagrin. Some of this may
be due to the pressure on him to be the ideal ruler when he inherits the kingdom. Wynn
is successful in battle (he's skilled with both mid-level magic and swordplay), but seems to
look at life as a game. His time on the battlefield and his interactions with those he has
fought, however, have started to confuse him over his true purpose for fighting. Wynn does
try to look out for Teran when they have time together, and tends to kid him for being
so serious, but his relationship with Bara is practically frozen.
|
| Princess Bara Diteea |
|
Age: 25
Bara is extremely withdrawn. She has always been very shy, but about seven years ago, she
suddenly isolated herself from everyone, including her family. Until then, she and Teran
had a very close relationship. Rumors say that she was unlucky in love, which did nothing
to help her fragile ego. There are other, more frightening rumors, about what she does in
her isolation, though publicly, she is just known to read and practice her magic. She is
the most powerful sorceress in the mountains and rivals Doren as the most powerful magic
user.
|
| Tomue and Shurika
Ages: ??
Tomue and his sister Shurika were a pair of Dark Elf (Drow) assassins that were dispatched
to kill Amelia, Karista, Jacob, and Michael. Being Dark Elves in this story, however,
as Meagan once said, they had the lifespans (and success) of Stormtroopers. Needless
to say, they're no longer among the living.
|
| Mysterious Wizard |
|
Age: ??
This wizard's role is a mystery. He seems involved with Teran's imprisonment and relishes
in watching the suffering of others. But what is his connection to Doren?
