Commission

The Denton County Historical Commission (DCHC) is
appointed by Denton County Commissioners Court for the purpose of initiating and
conducting programs for the preservation of the prehistoric and historic heritage of
Denton County, Texas. All Denton County Historical Commission members are
voluntarily appointed to serve the citizens of our county without pay.
The Archaeology Committee, DCHC, is charged with and dedicated to the identification,
protection, and research of all archaeological sites within the boundaries of Denton
County, Texas, and to the preservation of artifacts for all the citizens of our county.
All Committee project activities are reported to the
Texas Historical Commission and the Office of the State Archeologist.
