DAMIEN AYLWARD: SWING, ROGER UNDERSTUDY Well what can I say about Damien??? He's great He's great He's great! I only ever saw him onstage once. It was a great day to see him onstage too! It was the closing Saturday Matinee. The second last performance of RENT in Australia ever, and Damien was playing Roger. At first it looked as if Damien was heaps nervous. He started to sing Glory... this would be the real test of his talent... will he hit the high notes and sustain them long enough... SAFE! He hit them with ease and sang an absolutely beautiful version of "GLORY".
It was clear that he's received some classical training, as his voice was more trained than Rodgers pub band fresh sound. It was a very different performance to Rodgers, despite the fact that they look VERY similar!!! The rest of the performance was smooth sailing. With gilfriend Cecilia looking down at him from the "Life Support Meeting" his acting in "Another Day" was FANTASTIC! Damien, I wish I had have seen you onstage more. You truly were brilliant! |

GAVIN D. ANDREW: GORDON & OTHERS, ROGER UNDERSTUDY I can't sing Gav's praises enough! He is a brilliant photographer, singer, actor and person! Gavin was a very convincing Drug Dealer, and as Gordon, well his performance totally touched me. His facial expressions were a scream, and he just ooozzzeeeddd charisma *on and off stage*. His voice is very clear, and his personality is subtle but evident in each character he plays.
I never got to see him play Roger, but I imagine he was great! Gavin is one of the cast members I miss most, and I really hope that he does end up auditioning for Happy Days!!!! You'd be great in whatever you did Gav... we love you! |

CHRISTINE ANU: MIMI Christine Anu IS Mimi Marquez!!!
Vocally spectacular *but we all knew that from her fabulous albums* and as an actress and dancer she's not so bad either! Christine would send shivers up our spines when she sang "Without You" and would make us cry when she sang "Goodbye Love" and even made us laugh when she would perform "Light My Candle". Christine was the major draw card for RENT, and totally exceeded everyone's expectations of her. Christine we love you!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
