THERN REYNOLDS: SWING, ANGEL UNDERSTUDY AAAAHHHH Thern! What a darling! As the dance captain, of course Thern was an outstanding Dancer... however his real talent lies in playing the girls parts! *sorry darl, but I have to mention it!*
On one lovely occasion that Alana, Ashleigh and I saw RENT, all the Swings were on stage as there were heaps of leads away. Now, poor Thern, *who later informed us that he had to know EVERYONE'S parts, guys and girls, as he was asked to play the weirdest parts* had to fill in for Natalie. This involved dancing along the railings with Gavin and playing "Rogers Mother" *which he changed to Roger's Father*. The whole time Thern was onstage, he was looking down at the three girls *who later got the nicknames "The Natalie Girls"* and laughing with us, as he realised that we were the ONLY people in the entire theatre that had noticed the difference! But Thern played Natalie's role ALMOST as good as Nat herself did. So he should be proud. Seriously though. Thern has a great voice, and is a terrific dancer. I never saw him play ANGEL, but I'm sure that his dancing in that role would have been spectacular! I loved the one occasion I saw him play the waiter, and look forward to seeing Thern onstage again soon! |

JONATHAN STUART: WILL I? SOLOIST & OTHERS, BENNY UNDERSTUDY Jonathan was a quiet member of the cast, but was also a very friendly person.
Jonathan gave a great performance in his "Will I?" solo, and I totally looked forward to it every time I saw the show! I only ever saw Jonathan play BENNY for the second act of one show *Fred had hit his head during the first act and had to go to the doctors* and so Jonathan came on for the second act as BENNY. And for what I saw of him he was fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Jonathan was also a great dancer, and was very energetic during his dance in "Contact" Evidently, Jonathan is also a great Graphic Designer...and I saw his picture for the "People's Choi Awards" and he looks to be VERY talented in that area too. Jonathan was shooting a pilot for a cooking program *which he's directing* and we wish him all the best for that! |

TROY WOODCROFT: WAITER & OTHERS, MARK UNDERSTUDY Troy joined the cast after Matty left. In Troy's first couple of performances he just seemed to try a little too hard to be like Matty, but then towards the end of the season, he had developed his own style and bought a new kind of energy to the stage.
By closing nite, Troy had made the character his own and even added his own little dance moves in here and there...like an AMAZING flip in LaVie Boheme. Troy was a spectacular dancer, and had a great voice to boot! I was lucky enough to see Troy play Mark one night, and thought that he was really good at the role. He was vocally wonderful and an excellent actor. He seemed to be a lot more comfortable in the role of Mark than in the role of the Waiter. Troy is a very talented performer and we hope to see him on stage somewhere soon! |
