The old American Thread
Company Mill in Dalton, GA, met an undeserved end on March 10,
1999. The following pages of photos were taken starting about
30 minutes after I first discovered the building was on fire.
They are all from the rear of the building. I worked for 7 years
in this building.
Needless to say,
I no longer work in the old Threadmill...
The following shots
are of the same area. One about 2 hours into the fire and the
other about 3p.m. on 3/11/99

35 feet tall...this gives you an idea of the size of the flames...
