So- you want to know about me? Okay... here goes.

I was born in NC, and raised mostly in Black Mountain, North Carolina. I now proudly call Chancellor, (near Enterprise, Geneva, Dothan) Alabama home. I share my home with my husband, Mike; our 3 cats, goldfish, and Ozzie & Maggie, our dogs!! Our oldest son David lives on the coast of NC, working his hobby Real KiteBording. Our youngest son Brad, lives & works in Enterprise. I love painting, eating, painting, crafts, & painting. My other interests include faux stained glass, iris folded cards, & water gardening.

My favorite saying "I'm creative; you can't expect me to be neat too!"

What? I can paint?

Who are you kidding, I can't draw a straight line!!

Well, that's what I thought anyway. Then I saw the Donna Dewberry One Stroke™ Method on television. I've always done "something" with my hands and I have closets & corners full of  the "something's". I've done all kinds of "odd & end" crafting; macramé, ceramics, sewing, and cross stitch. I didn't take the time to  finish  the things I knew how to do, why would I want to learn to do something else? I have a very short attention span :)

I resisted for about a year the urge to order a One Stroke Decorative Painting kit from QVC. I finally gave in & ordered a kit. It then sat in one of those closets for about a year, like most "wanna be" painters do!! When hunting season of 2000 came around, I decided to dig out that kit & see if it would hold my attention for one "hunting season" while I was a hunting widow.  I found a local certified OS teacher, took a few classes from her, & was (and still am) amazed that I really can make a flower look like a flower! That was the beginning of my obsession with painting.  It has defiantly held my attention for more than one hunting season, & I still love it.

In June of 2002 I attended One Stroke certification in Florida. I can now add the  coveted title- OSCI to my name: One Stroke Certified Teacher :)  I learned a lot- & it motivated me to sign up for the Wall & Furniture Certification in Oct, 2002. I attended & received my DDWFS certification- Donna Dewberry Wall/ Furniture Specialist. I learned a lot- and had a good time. I am now looking forward to attending more decorative painting seminars in the future.

It's always been my dream to someday have my own small craft business, but I never knew what "craft" would give me the "push". One Stroke painting has given me the confidence to start a small business out of my home. I have also discovered a love for Wall Painting! I love designing & painting clients walls & furniture.

I have to mention Tole Town- my lovely online home. The members there are the BEST- & I am learning a lot in the online classes. Please pour yourself a cuppa coffee, grab a sweet (TT members love to eat- especially sweets) & take a tour of the town. Its a great place to call "home". http://www.toletown.com

A special thanks to Donna Dewberry for sharing her One Stroke™ Method with the rest of us "wanna be" artists, and Toletown for their help in in expanding my painting knowledge. Also my online friends I have made- who continually amaze me with their willingness to help when called upon.

Never stop learning!!! I'm not :)
