page 1 - Facilitator Orientation Training, 21 & 27 Feb 1999
The roles of Facilitators who accompanied the participants on the experiential wheelchair-bound journey on 14 Mar 1999 included facilitating experiential learning as well as overseeing the team's safety. As such, two sessions of wheelchair orientation training were held to familiarise the facilitators on all practical aspects of wheelchair handling, movement and how to assist a wheelchair-bound person. The training was held at the Handicaps Welfare Association (HWA) and conducted by a group of highly experienced and very helpful HWA volunteers led by Judy Wee and Patrick Ang, respectively the Vice President and Executive Committee Member of HWA.
