Mortal Background/History:

(QotD) In the 4th Millenium B.C., the aging Queen of the Nile Valley had died without a daughter to carry on the royal blood and Enkil was without a Queen by his throne. He had no sisters or cousins to marry and carry on the line, so he settled upon a new bride who was not of his own people, Akasha.

Akasha ruled over the Nile Valley with the King Enkil. It seems that she was more powerful then the King for she spoke out more. The King did not participate very much in the ruling of his Kingdom, he only agreed to his Queen's wishes.

When Amel was sent by Mekare and harassed Khayman, it was Enkil who came to Khaymans aid and attempted to speak reason with the evil spirit. He remained in Khaymans house with Amel for many days, but was eventually stabbed by the religious flesh eaters, and was at near death until Akasha gave him the blood so he could survive.

Immortal Background/History:

(QotD) Akasha and Enkil, on the basis of the myth of Osiris and Isis, founded a new worship proclaiming themselves gods. Discovering the powers he possessed from the Dark gift, he and the Queen asked many questions of the witches, Mekare and Maharet, wanting to use their gift for good. Mekare's theory was that the spirit Amel had undergone a change for itself and was now running in the veins of the King and Queen. The only way to be rid of the spirit was to destroy Akasha since she was the first one made. When Akasha heard this she accused the twins for putting this curse on her and the King. Locking them up in stone coffins, one was sent to the west and the other to the south never to be united again.

Enkil eventually fell into an unusual slumber of sorts, with Akasha, Even in this state, Enkil and Akasha were worshipped by other blood drinkers. They remained this way even when he was put into the sun in the 1st Century B.C. Discovered by Marius some time later, he became their keeper moving them to Antioch.

(TVL, B&G) Occasionally, Enkil awoke from his coma-like state, but only to keep his Queen with him - if it appeared that she was being taken from him.

(QotD) In 1984, Enkil was destroyed by Akasha in a shrine; draining him of his blood.

In the northern snow covered wasteland, the shrine was embedded hundreds of feet in ice; where Marius kept Enkil and Akasha.

Reason for the DarkGift: At near death, Enkil was saved by Akasha because she didn't want her King to die; she was also maddened by the scent of his spilled blood.

Novels: Appears in 'The Vampire Lestat', 'Queen of the Damned', 'Pandora', and 'Blood and Gold'.
