Approximate Age: Said to be young, early 20's, when made. Lived as an immortal for around 2000 years.
Appearance: Mael possesses a rather unusual beauty. He is tall and gaunt, with long blonde hair and a narrow face. He has a high bridged nose, strong jaw and mouth; deep-set blue eyes framed by bushy blonde brows and a forehead high and clear.
Paramour & Consorts: Avicus, Marius, Maharet and Jesse.
Fledglings: Unknown
Mortal Background/History: (TVL) Mael was born in the end of the 1st Century B.C, and became a Druid Priest. He taught Marius the customs and laws of the Druids, preparing Marius for his journey into becoming a God of the Grove. After Marius escaped, Mael became a vampire himself by taking the blood from an Elder vampire, Avicus.
Immortal Background/History: (B&G) After Maels transformation as a vampire, he traveled with his maker for many centuries. At one point, Mael met up with Marius once again, and there was much hostility between the two. They finally grew to accept one another, keeping things civil; and the three vampires, Mael, Marius and Avicus, joined and spent many years in each others company.
They eventually parted ways, with Mael living a solitary life; visiting Marius only once.
(QotD) Mael, much later, joined Maharet and became her companion. In the year 1984, Maharet sent him on a task to take care of the mortal woman, Jesse, during the vampire Lestats concert. He witnessed an attempted murder of Jesse, and saved her by providing her with a mouthful of his immortal blood. Mael survives through Akashas worldwide slaughter of the immortals.
(MtD) When Lestat brings back Veronicas Veil from his trip to heaven and hell, Mael attempts to destroy himself in the sun for his belief in god and beyond has been restored. This attempt fails.
