Appearance: Mekare has long coppery red hair that is thick and curly. She has a tall, bird-like frame with curious green eyes; her flesh has lost all colour.

Mortal Background/History: (QotD) Mekare was born into a family of witches that lived at the foot of Mount Carmel, Palestine (modern day Israel); along with her twin sister, Maharet. Mekare was the first born out of the twins, and was the more powerful. They both had the power to make rain and attract spirits. In a cannibalistic ceremony, where Mekare was going to eat her dead mother's brain and eyes, Akasha's soldiers forced them away. The twin sisters were at the age of 25 during this time. The soldiers brought Mekare and her sister to Akasha and Enkils court, where Akasha interrogated them with questions concerning the supernatural. Akasha was not happy with the answers she received and had them raped by her court steward, Khayman, to prove that they had no power. They are then freed.
Mekare and her sister are ordered before the court of Akasha and Enkil a second time, but only to discover that the King and Queen have been transformed into something not human vampires. When Mekare and her sister explain to the King and Queen about how they came to be what they were, the twins are sentenced to die.
Akasha ordered to have Mekare's tongue torn out for the so-called lies and evil shed spoken. Before this was done, Mekare screamed out a prophecy:
(Queen of the Damned Excerpt): - 'Let the spirits witness, for theirs is the knowledge of the future both what it would be and what I will! You are the Queen of the Damned. Your only destiny is evil as well you know! But I shall stop you even if I must come back from the dead to do it. At the hour of your greatest menace it is I who will defeat you! Look well upon my face for you will see me again!'
When imprisoned again, Khayman came to the Mekare and her sister, offering them the Dark Gift which Akasha and Enkil had forced upon him. Mekare accepted, for she wished to be granted the means and time to gain revenge upon Akasha.
Immortal Background/History: After some hesitance upon Maharet's part, Mekare helps to give her the Dark Gift. Several hours later, Mekare is separated from her sister when sealed inside a stone coffin and set adrift the sea. She eventually reached the South American shore, but her tracks are lost and nothing is heard about her or from her for centuries.
(QotD)When Akasha awakens in 1984, and begins her slaughter, Mekare sent dreams to vampires all over the world about what had happened to the twins. Mekare showed up at the compound at the last moment and pushed Akasha into a glass of wall that severs her head. She then devours the brain and heart given to her by Maharet and becomes the new Queen of the Damned.
(B&G) We last see Mekare when Thorne destroys Santino. Mekare removes Thornes eyes and gives them to Maharet, and then chains up him up.
Reason for the DarkGift: Mekare accepted the Dark Gift from Khayman, so shed be able to gain revenge on Akasha.
