Appearance:  

Merrique was tall with long dark-brown hair and a graceful neck. She had large almond-shaped hazel eyes and a long nose, but no obvious features of African decent.

Mortal Background/History:

(Mrrck) Born in New Orleans,1963, Merrique was a Mayfair of Afro-American descent. She was a member of the Talamasca, found and fostered by Aaron Lightner and David Talbot, and also had a romantic affair with David.

Merrique later meets David for the first time after he's made a vampire, and accepts his request, with some hesitation, to conjure the spirit of Claudia for Louis. Once Merrique and Louis meet and the séance is over, Louis appears to have fallen in love with Merrique. David suspects that Merrique had put a love spell on Louis, which she, in fact, had done so.

Merrique and Louis meet up again and David, after threatening Louis to not harm her, leaves the two alone. Merrique enchants Louis and makes him give her the Dark Gift.

 

Immortal Background/History:  

Once shes a vampire, Louis commits suicide, but is revived by the combination of David, Merrique and Lestats blood.

Merrique takes up residence with the trio of vampires, when the Talamasca threaten the vampires to return Merrick. She refuses to return to them and they leave New Orleans. 

(BlackWF) Merrick dies by taking Goblin (Quinns evil twin) into the fire with her, destroying both herself and Goblin.

 

Reason for the DarkGift:

By enchanting Louis with her spells, Merrique became a vampire.
