A painted picture by Thomas Duty courtesy of his daughter Lisa Blankinship and the history behind BY LISA
BLANKINSHIP.
This is a picture of a painting. The painting was done by the late Thomas Duty (Husband of the late Roxie Rowe) Thomas
painted this picture on an old barn in Toledo Ohio back in 1967-1968, where the family lived for several years. Thomas and
his family moved back to Pikeville, Kentucky in 1971 leaving the painting behind. Years later in the summer of 2002 Thomas
and Roxies daughter Lisa took a trip back to the old home place in search of comfort after the loss of her parents. Never
dreaming that she would find something so precious and meaninful as the 37 year old painting that had been long forgotten. The
couple that were living in the old home place wanted Lisa to have the old painting. It is now at the home of Greg
and Lisa (Duty) Blankenship, Lower Johns Creek. Pikeville,KY.
