The Olgas / Kata Tjuta
Three outstanding landmarks in the middle of nowhere in a straight line, and geologically
totally different: the Olgas or Kata Tjuta, Ayers Rock or Uluru, and finally Mount Conner.
Maybe there is some truth in the Aboriginal myths???
The Olgas appear in the distance... a fascinating view!
From this viewpoint it is not only possible to see the "broad side" of Kata Tjuta, but also
Uluru in the distance. Due to the bushfires, there is too much haze today and the view on
Uluru is only very faint, too faint for the camera.
Look at the difference: All the tourists which flew in and were taken here by coach, and
next to them our rugged OKA. They are clean and fancy-dressed and have bus drivers in white
socks, shorts and tie - we came all the way through the desert and are dirty from head
to toe. Anyway, wherever we turn up, we are an attraction!
As the other tourist groups have nicely dressed drivers, we forced Glen to pull up his
socks and clean the wheels, too - just as the other ones do!!! (just kidding)
Kata Tjuta, a breathtaking view.

Start of Kata Tjuta or Olga Gorge walk - Jesus, it is so hot!!!
Can you see the footprint in the middle of this rock formation? Kata Tjuta and Uluru
have lots of details like this to spot. Simply fascinating.

Here you can see the conglomerate which Kata Tjuta consist of. A lot of rocks have already
fallen down, washed out by the scarce rainfalls of thousands of years.
Faint view of Kata Tjuta at sunrise in the distance - bye bye Kata Tjuta!
