The legend of Southern All Stars all began one day when Kuwata Keisuke and Sekiguchi Kazuyuki met at Aoyama Gakuin University in 1974. Both of them were actively inv olved in the folk song circle. Later, other members such as Hara Yuko, Nozawa Hideyuki, Omori Takashi and Matsuda Hiroshi joined in their group and Kuwata Keisuke officially formed the band Southern All Stars in 1975. Their first debut in 1978 is Katte ni Shindobado. As the leader, Kuwata Keisuke was responsible for the lyrics, music and the vocals. His unique way of words caused a great sensation in the Japanese music world. With the amazing talent of Kuwata Keisuke and the effort of other band members, Southern All Stars has created great hits one after another. Some memorable songs are Itoshi no Eri (1979), Minna no uta (1987) , Sayonara Baby (1990), Erotica Seven (1993), Mampy no G Spot (1995) and Paradise (1998), Other than that, Kuwata Keisuke has also directed a movie called Inamura Jehen in 1991. This movie is a love story and was really popular in Japan. Kuwata Keisuke has also formed a project with one of the most popular group among young people, Mr. Children in 1991. Both of them performed in a charity concert for Aids. Kuwata Keisuke wrote the song Kiseki no hoshi dedicated to this project. With the interaction with other new popular groups and not limited to one imagination, there's no doubt that Southern All Stars can be popular among all generations till now.
