They spotted the approaching extra-terrestrial craft at 21.03. By 21.34 it had landed and two top agents were dispatched to investigate and cover up the alien sighting if necessary.
The Doctor kicked the borrowed TARDIS hard. She had borrowed it from Rodan after hers had mysteriously gone off on a date with a telephone kiosk in San Diemos.
Hannah looked at the strange shaped craft. Surely a large metal saucer was not the ideal shape for it to be in when it crashed. She remembered all the naff Roswell TV shows her folks simply loved. That was one of the reasons she had left home, that and they threw her out when she brought Maria home to meet them.
"Stupid cheap Skonnon anti-gravity drive!" The Doctor cursed as she stubbed her poor toe kicking it again.
Suddenly the two time travellers were picked out by two high intensity headlights as the DIB's vehicle approached.
The Doctor looked at the twin points of light for a second, something didn't feel right about this situation, there was a tingling of her temporal intuition cells.
"Maybe they have cell phones." Hannah observed. "We can call for pizza."
"I don't think they do pizza here Hannah, not unless things have radically changed." The Doctor waited as the vehicle drew closer and closer. The occupants of the vehicle emerged, confirming the Doctor's worst fears. "This is Skaro, I'd like you to meet some of my worst enemies...the Daleks!"
Dee and Gee approached the two humanoids. "STAY WHERE YOU ARE. DO NOT MOVE." Gee ordered. When it realised that Dee had stopped moving and was resolutely standing still it reversed its motion. "NOT YOU, I WAS TALKING TO THE HUMANS."
"I'm not human." The Doctor volunteered. "Well some of me is, depending on the occasion. I'm sorry you were saying?"
"DO NOT TALK." Gee ordered. "READ THEM THEIR RIGHTS DEE."
Dee obediently remained silent.
"YOU CAN SPEAK DEE, THE HUMANOIDS MAY NOT." Gee clarified the situation.
Dee coughed. "YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE EXTERMINATED IF WE FEEL LIKE IT. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SUMMARY EXECUTION IF WE FEEL LIKE IT. IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE BEEN UNFARELY EXTERMINATED THEN YOU CAN FILL IN FORMS 96897, HH865734 and IYRY975."
"STATE YOUR NAME, AGE AND PLANET OF ORIGIN." Gee asked the smaller humanoid.
Hannah looked at the small lumpy metal creature and tried not to laugh. "Hannah Sinclair, 21, Earth."
"NOW YOU." Gee prompted the Doctor.
The Doctor shook her head. "I'm not telling you anything without a lawyer." She crossed her arms and looked away from the two Daleks.
"TELL ME." Gee asked.
"TELL ME." Dee asked.
"Oh very well." The Doctor gave into the Dalek's demand. "The Doctor, 2000ish, Gallifrey."
"IT IS THE DOCTOR." Gee started. "TRUNDLE FOR IT."
The two Daleks trundled back to their vehicle as fast as they could.
The Doctor smiled. "And we were just getting to know each other too." She called out after the fleeing metallic encased creatures.
"So what do we do about fixing this heap of junk?" Hannah asked.
"Oh I think it's just the lateral drift compensators, I'll have it fixed in ten minutes, thirty five if I need to use the sonic screwdriver." Rolling her blouse sleeves up the Doctor got to work while Hannah half helped and half tried to make a milkshake using the Time Rotor.
