Did You Know?
Hundred Islands is the first in the country to be declared a national park in 1941, this group of 123 islands and islets
totaling almost 2,000 hectares has undergone critical transformations over the decades. It has become the most visible example
of effective and sustainable eco-tourism. There was a time when its fragile coral ecosystem was compromised by mismanagement
and ignorance on the effects of tourist traffic. Today, it has recovered remarkably well and offers the jaded tourist (I've
seen it all!) a hundred and one different ways to enjoy one's place under the sun.
