Activities and Service Projects

Our projects for the 2009-2010 club year include supporting the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, the YWCA of Greater Harrisburg, and the Mammogram Fund at Pinnacle Health.
Scholarships and awards continue to be offered through the Young Woman Volunteer (Violet Richardson) Award, the Women's Opportunity Award and the Harrisburg Area Community College Scholarship. The newest scholarship, The Margaret I. Weaver Scholarship, was first offered in Spring 2003 to a female graduate of Harrisburg High School continuing her studies in the fields of Math or Science.
Our major recipient this year was Shalom House who will renovate a basement room for residents to provide space for families to spend time together.
We continue to work with the Venture Club, a group for younger women in the Harrisburg area.
