Materials / Resources

Here is a list of materials that are used when creating stars:

1. Strip Material - read more about the materials here.
2. Exacto Blade - used for cutting strips if not already. More info here.
3. Scissors - useful for cutting excess strip material.
4. Tape - for types of materials that do not hold their shape well, tape can be used.
5. Ruler - for when cutting strips.
6. Containers - to organize colors or shapes before presentation.
7. Bottles - for presentation.

Many of these materials are available in regular stores. Materials especially for star making(i.e., specail bottle, pre-cut strips) can be found in Asian gift shops in your city's Chinatown or Asian shopping center.

There are also some sites that sell such materials online. Though I have not tried buying from any of these, here are a few spesify pages listing products (the sites are also listed in the Related Links section):

Also, strip material can come from used materials such as old gift wrapping paper, old posters, and also the use of old bottles instead of bought ones. You will find that the cost of strips and bottles in stores much more than that of which you can already have to re-use.
