Lack of Suikoden IV, and other unfortunate things
1/11/2005 06:06:39 PM
"Part of working together is understanding and respecting each other's needs. That's why I've titled today's workshop ... 'Only fat, ugly lesbo-whores that no one really finds attractive sue for gender discrimination or sexual harassment.'" - Tifanni, Something Positive

A little old postal type man knocked on my door a little while ago, with a package for my neighbours. Apparently they aren't in, and he'd like me to give it to them when they are. It's perfectly safe - it's far too big to contain Suikoden Iv.

Currently all my material desires could basically be summarized as Suikoden IV. Which is very stupid, because I know I can't afford it - I still have two text books to buy, my tuition is due at the end of the month, and the day after my rent's due. Plus, I have to be thinking about whether I want to renew my lease for another year. I'm putting it off until I see how much they're increasing the rent - they leave giving us that message until the last possible week to renew the lease, which I find evil in the most primitive of ways. Unless we're looking at a massive increase, though, I'll probably just stay here. It's expensive for a place this small, but it's right next to campus and . . . actually, that's really the only good reason to stay here. That and the fact that I'm far too lazy to find a new, slightly cheaper apartment, and move all my crap.

Also, found out that Vision is no longer showing Wonderfalls - it's now on some channel in the 100s which I clearly don't get. And FOX has replaced it's afternoon syndication of Malcolm in the Middle with another bad court tv show. It's like the powers that be of tv loathe me, or something. What am I supposed to watch while doing boring stuff, like editing papers and exercising and repairing the holes in my pants?

A pox upon it all,
Almighty Ingrid, Signing Off

3 Snide remarks

I have some of the later Wonderfalls episodes, though I haven't watched them, and actually, I'm not quite sure where they are right now. The dvd set comes out February 1st. I'm on the fence about getting it.

Have you watched Dead Like Me yet?

Well, I managed to see the last couple episodes at my parents with my mum, so I'm mostly just missing it being on because it was nice sort of snarky comfort tv to have on Monday nights. I thought the DVD set was supposed to be out in December, but clearly I was misinformed. I'm hoping I can talk my mum into getting it, though.

For some reason playing the first couple episodes gave my computer a lot of trouble, although I checked some of the later ones and they seemed fine, just a bit slow on a computer that, I guess, is starting to get a bit old. On the bright side, my youngest aunt gave my parents the DVD set of the first season, and I watched the first couple episodes with my mum while she was laid up, so now I'll feel less weird about watching the later episodes. Yay!

If you need help moving at any time, just ask. I can probably borrow my cousin's truck.
