Marla studied a Bachelor of Music Degree at Brandon University, where she studied with Francis Chaplin and graduated in 1994.  Since then she established Suzuki Violin Satellite Programs in Portage la Prairie and MacGregor, Manitoba.  Marla has completed SAA training for Suzuki Violin Levels 1-8 at Stevens Point Wisconsin, Guelph, Ontario, SnowMass Village, Colorado, and Brandon Manitoba.

Marla enjoys teaching and has great respect for students, parents, and teachers who dedicate their time to study the field of music. Marla enjoys working with varied levels and ages, attending workshops, adjudicating at festivals, performing at community celebrations and events, and most of all sharing and having fun with music.
