ALISON* Free Global Learning

ALISON* is a free online learning resource for basic and essential workplace skills. It provides high-quality, interactive multimedia courseware for certification and standards-based learning.

ALISON's misson is to use its learning platform to provide free education for all around the world, thereby creating a more equitable and sustainable global society.

ALISON believes that all certifiable or standards-based learning for every subject can be made available for free online, and in this way make article 26 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (which states "Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free...") will become a reality.

Cramster for Students

Cramster.com is a global study community comprising students and teachers helping each other understand how to solve problems for mathematically-based subjects (e.g. Physics, Calculus, Stats, Chemistry, ME, EE, CS, etc). Cramster provides access to various types of study material (e.g. textbook solutions, topic notes, sample problems, practice exams) created by Cramster, indexed from the web, or contributed by members. As an online study group, Cramster fosters social learning through the Cramster Q&A board where members ask and answer questions moderated by Cramster Subject Matter Experts.

Cramster.com launched in February 2003. Since then, Cramster has been helping students understand how to do their homework and be better prepared for their exams in over 4,000 schools from Seattle to Seoul.

 


Wiki-Academies

Wikipedia.com launched a Wikipedia Academy in Chennai, India on December 12, 2008. The Academy will focus on spreading education and supporting Wikipedia by contributing articles to it.
