CHEROKEE TEARS DAIRY GOATS
This is our Nubian Buck
Savage Warrior
He is now two years old, and has produced some wonderful kids this year. The Nubian is an all-purpose goat, useful for meat, milk and hide productions. The Nubian can stand hot weather very well. They come in many color combinations and patterns, they are easy to tell from other goats because of their roman nose and floppy ears. Our Does names are Pawnee, Morning Due, Shades of black, Just Before Dawn, Moon Dust, Apachee Moon, Desert Song, Seminole Winds, Firefly, and Summer Breeze. Our babys for this year are: Moonglow, Crystal Myste, Pendragon, Sawgrass, Misty Dawn, Total Eclipse, and Piaute.
The OBERHASLI, a Swiss Breed,
their color is chamois,
which is shades of bay with black markings
the only other color excepted is black, and only on the does
Oberhasli have a very calm and loving nature, and for their size give good amounts of milk.

We have had oberhasli for about 3 years and have fallen in love with them and although they are all marked the same we can tell all of them apart, now the more we get the harder it may get to tell everyone apart. The only problem they seem to have is they don't take heat as well as some of the other breeds. Our does names are, Annamarie, Odie, Summer Rain, Avalon, Spooky, Red Cloud, Destiny and Charisma. This years babies are: Starry Nite, Kachina, Arapoho, Keyara, Spooky's Shadow, and Anck Su Namun.

The French Alpine originated in the Alps. The Alpine is very adaptable to any climate. As you can see I don't know a lot about Alpines, have never had any of that breed.

There are also Recorded Grades, which deserve mentioning, these are does which are of mixed breed, but other wise are really nice does and are nice enough to breed to improve or else add a nice quility to another breed. Our Grade does names are Paperlace, Chantelly Lace, Wakantank, Majic Moment, Dream Weaver, Thunderstorm, Iridesent, Two Feathers, Bittersweet, Thimbelina, Silvermoon, and Raven Hawk. This years babies are: Sea Lion, Moody Blue, White Satin, Ghostly Spirits.

The Lamancha may look a little odd to the everyday person
because of the lack of ears, they have nearly no ears at all
they are called either
gopher, or elf.

Our only american breed goat the Lamancha originated in Oregon
breed by Eula Frey.
they have good temperment and come in all colors. The Lamancha was one of our first breeds and we still have a few. My husband says they look like aliens, and they do look like the pictures you mostly see that people have drawn, so it makes you wonder.....Our does names are Lady Iroquois, Chowtaw, Lady Hawk, and Mischeif. We didn't have any lamancha babies this year, but a lamancha-nubian cross silvermoon.

The Pygmy goat originated in Africa
and was inported to the U.S. in the 1950s
It is one of the smallest goats but for its size
produces a fair amount of milk. These little guys are
affectionate, cute, and playful
and they can be kept with only a little care.

If there is anyone out there that thinks that these little guy can't keep pace with the bigger guys,
well, think again this year in march an African Pygmy
gave birth to 5 kids
and a week later a Nigerian dwarf gave birth to 6 babies
they both are in Va, and at last info, they all were still surviving. BACK NEXT
