107th Joint Reponse Group
The
107th Joint Response Group was created in 2383 under the supervision of the Starfleet Joint Chiefs as part
of President Bacco’s reformed defense deployment plans. This battle group mobilizes several starships from the 7th
and 9th Fleets and their respective marine detachments. The SF Navy and SF Marine battle group’s (one of
many) purpose is to form a temporary body of ships and personnel and direct them to perform any particular task or activity,
without commiting large number of ships from any one single fleet and their particular patrol sector (for example 9th
‘Obsidian’ Fleet is tasked to patrol the Romulan Neutral Zone).
This battle group formed under the supervision and direction of the Federation Security Council with the intention
to mobilize elements from the 7th, and 9th Federation Fleets within 72 hours notice. Its purpose is
to mobilize a rapid response group of starships able to respond to diplomatic, domestic or a foreign crisis, with the ability
to provide emergency medical and logistic and security assistance. This concept was created in accordance to the President
Nanietta Bacco’s post war platform and was intended to create a formidable group of ships without taking too much elements
from any single fleet (The 7th Fleet safeguards Bajor and the wormhole, and the 9th Fleet patrols along
the Romulan Neutral Zone). One of the ships ordered
to mobilize as the 107th is the USS Britannia under the command of Commander Tanaka Kiat Chan who is only one of
many skippers who have been redeployed to this first response battle group.
