Will MARCAL be? At this point, no one knows but we are already picking up shifts in the current of the one life we live. On this page we will collect such signs and preserve them for posterity.
Sign # 1 On March 5, 2003, the hubby of Joyce317, MARCAL # 4, brought home a package of Marcal napkins. Mr. Joyce317 had never done such a thing before. It is hard not to see the significance of that radical shift in his behavior. He was used as a conduit for a message: MARCAL will be.
Sign # 2 Sometime during the weekend of March 8-9, 2003, Ladyday, MARCAL # 1, while strolling down the street of a large city that looked a lot like NYC with her family and on her way to see Hairspray, was confronted by a HUGE window display of Marcal products. She nearly stumbled with merriment from the obvious significance of that seemingly innocuous advertising ploy. Her family, it must be noted, continued on oblivious to what had just happened. But the significance of that display was not lost to the one tuned into the reverberations of MARCAL signs. The message was simple: MARCAL will be.
Sign #3 On March 16, Taudia, MARCAL #69, discovered the MARCAL theme song and excited reported it to the members! THEN....THEN she found a P-I-C-T-U-R-E of Steve Holy the singer. Everyone agreed it was a sign: MARCAL will be.
Sign #4 Signs are of such significance and reading signs is such an art of nuances that we tend not to focus too much on official spoilers but they have become increasingly hard to ignore lately. First there were reports that Marcie was going to start tutoring Al. Ahem. Then spoilers indicated that they would grow closer and we had the wonderful encounter at Rodi's. Now on April 22, Marcie is supposed to rescue Al. Ummmmmmm. Hard not to start getting your hopes up: MARCAL will be-e-e-e-e-e!
Sign #5 Al and Marcie were placed next to each in the opening credits!!!!!!!!!!!! There is only one thing to say: MARCAL will be-e-e-e-e-e!
Sign #6 The MARCALS have officially declared May 5 as MARCAL MONDAY. On May 5, 2003, Al kissed Marcie. Yes, you read that correctly. Al planted a big one on Marcie and the collective swoon of the MARCALS could be heard around the world! MARCAL will be!
Sign #7 People are becoming obsessed with MARCAL. But how do you distinguish an obsession from just a healthy interest in the lives of a fictional character or two. alishajackson, MARCAL #33, who freely admits to being obsessed with MARCAL, offers the following tips: You
know you’re obsessed when…. ...the first thing you
watch on your tape are the previews for the next day.
Sign #8 On June 19, 2003, Vegetarian1, MARCAL # 74 , went shopping a stumbled across a sartorial item that was surely a SIGN! Diner of Love Socks! In her own words, "I was at my local Target, bummed cause MARCAL has not been on in days when I saw them! They are white socks with pictures of diner fronts, jukeboxes and records on them! I was so happy that I lost it in the store and bought all the pairs that they had! Glad they were on sale (Ha Ha). Hey, I may be a shopaholic but I love a bargain too! I took it as a sign--MARCAL is everywhere!!!!" And there you have. Things don't get much clearer than that! MARCAL will be!
Sign #9 On October 20, 2003, Al, who is currently dead (ahem) told Marcie that she had to believe in miracles. Tessarae87, Marcal #2 was so overcome with positive feels that she became convinced that not only would the MARCALS get Al back alive and with Marcie that a wedding was in the near future. She boldly created the following image and stated proudly that she believed in miracles.
And she does believe! It's a sign! MARCAL will be again!
