Background/History:
They were twins, not identical, Barbara born first. The two were a study in contrasts even at birth. Barbara with blonde hair and laughing all the time while Susan had jet black hair and stared, quietly contemplative, most of the time. As they grew up, both were bright kids with Barbara the outgoing cheerleader and Susan the shy, depressed poet. They were united by their love of music. Barbara could sing and Susan wrote for her. There was an old woman who lived in an apartment complex near their home who spent most of her time sitting in the park watching the children play. Everyone one called her "Gramma" because she acted as if all the kids were her grandchilden. She loved to listen to the twins and encouraged them. One day, she gave each girl a gift. Barbara received a choker with a pure ivory cameo and Susan got a bracelet with an ebony stone in it. Gramma said she would be leaving soon and wanted the girls to have something to remember her by, something that would help them achieve their potential. They assumed she meant the jewelry were good luck pieces. She explained that Barbara’s voice had power, she had a special gift and the choker would help her use it. For Susan, filled with an unreasoning darkness, the bracelet would help her channel that darkness outward. The children never saw her again. She disappeared and was never heard from again. They looked for her, but no one could find any trace of her before she began sitting in the park ten years before or where she went after that day. They began to figure out the strange abilities they posessed when Barbara’s singing caused people to obey her. It was a small crowd, but when she sang "Come to me", they surged toward the stage as one, and just as suddenly, a wall of black force sprung from Susan’s hands and blocked their path. The girls began testing these strange powers and decided to work together as super heroines, gaining a good reputation in town and were asked to join the Freedom Brigade.

Personality/Motivation:
Their father was an anti-war demonstrator who went on to be a successful lawyer, their mother was an aspiring actress who ended up in social work. The combination of broken dreams and desire to change the world was impressed on the girls. They work as hard on their musical career as their superheroic exploits will allow. They are both dedicated to using the gift they received wisely and for the common good with the hope that somewhere Gramma knows and is proud of them.

Quote: "I’m the the sound, she’s the fury!"
