Keeper of Infinite Earths - Villains of the Pulp Age
Created by Matt Parmenter
Caesar Della Cire
Alter Ego: Caesar "The Royal Cire" Cire, AKA Aldo Tancredo
DiRuocco
Occupation: Leader of The Cire Mob
Known Relatives: Trilby DiRuocco, mother
Group Affiliation: The Cire Mob
Base of Operations: New York, NY.
Background/History:
Caesar’s father saved every penny to move his family to America, the land of
freedom and prosperity. He succeeded in finally gathering enough money for
passage and to start a new life around the turn of the century. The years of
hard work took their toll and his health broke, so he sent his wife and son on
ahead to New York City, promising to follow as soon as he recovered his
strength. He never did and died before they got off the ship. Stuck in America
with her son, Trilby took her anger out on her husband’s memory. She hated him
for dying and leaving them alone in a strange land. They scrimped by and Caesar
spent a great deal of time on his own while his mother did whatever she could to
make ends meet and fell in with a bad crowd. He discovered at a young age that
he was a guy that people would follow and turned some rowdy kids into a gang.
Then, he brought that gang into the Mob and set about taking over the Mob and
the city. He blazed a bloody path toward the top, but he ran into All American.
Cire set up a sale of weapons to a gang of Brown Shirts and All American found
out about it. He broke up the sale and took the bundists and a number of Cire’s
top men down. Cire was beside himself with rage and used all of his resources to
get revenge on him, but he simply could not beat All American. Cire had lost
virtually everything, especially his reputation, in his vain attempts to get All
American and finally deluded himself into believing that he only failed because
he had not handled the matter personally. He set a trap and faced the hero man
to man. Seconds later, he was on his way to jail for the first time. Fearing
that Cire knew too much, the Family decided to spring him from jail. All Caesar
could talk about was getting revenge, so the bosses agreed to take care of the
problem. Caesar Cire’s body was never recovered.
Personality/Motivations:
All of his life Caesar wanted more. More money, more power, and so on until he
simply wanted everything his way no matter the cost. The angry young man simply
became a bitter parody of the leader he could have been, instead of being a big
man, he simply became a bad memory.
Quote: "Nobody running around in his pajamas is going beat me. That’s right, me, ‘The Royal Cire’!"
