Old Rayne

 

How to get there: A96 Aberdeen-Inverness Road.  Seven miles after Inverurie turn off to Old Rayne village.  Take the minor road just after the village cross and follow the for just under half a mile.  The circle is on the left about 100 metres from the road.

 

Description: This circle is best viewed early in the year or late autumn as it sits in a field that is usually in crop.  It also straddles a field boundary of barbed wire.  This circle would have been massive in its original condition and quite possibly one of the most beautiful.  Only 1 circle stone still stands along with the recumbent and east flanker.
