Banshee’s are always female.  Theirs was the curse of a mother too vain to hear the screams of her own child drowning in a pond because she was staring at her reflection.  Banshee’s are cursed with the long lives of faerie and despise the fair creatures who they see as also vain and should not live such care-free lives.  They made their own scream deadly to the faerie. 

Jhynaalii was born in Ireland.  Trying to escape the curse, her mother thought they could escape outside the Celtic lands to the New World and live normally.  The curse followed with them.  They were driven out of every colony because they were the devil’s work.  Needless to say, they grew a bit bitter.  The faerie of the land would not take them in for what they were either.  Finally, after living her millennium of life, Jhynaalii’s mother died.  Jhynaalii is currently in heat, but does not want to produce more offspring with the curse.  She is not in a good mood and is oddly finding pleasure in how much screaming she does, foretelling human death.  She’s in New Hampshire, outskirts of a small city she doesn’t know or care to know the name of.  It has an old industrial mill park that was built in the early 70’s which was recently mowed down and turned into a mall.  The grand opening of the mall is within the next few days… just in time for last minute Easter Shopping.
