Tom's inspiration to paint was largely influenced and inspired by travelling to countries such as India, Australia, Mexico, Spain, Italy, France, Samoa, Austria, Holland and peaked after a trip to Hawaii, which afforded him the privilege of meeting, talking to and watching Wyland Gallery artist Walfrido paint for two days. While in Hawaii, in addition to a stay in Key West, Florida he paid particular attention to tropical scenery, sunsets and lighting effects which has become a prevalent part of his paintings.

A spiritual nature greatly influences his highly imaginative and mystical styles of painting. Tom is also a holistic healer/lecturer, singer/songwriter/musician and has authored the book, "Mystics, Light & Life, the Master's Journey to Health & Spirituality". His new book, "Ultimate Illusions", is currently being finished. In the past, he was the winner of the Pacific Northwest Accordian Championships held in Seattle, Washington for three consecutive years after which he switched to playing the guitar. It wasn't until November1998 that he focussed his imagination and talents towards painting.

Discovering that he was naturally gifted in art, Tom, who is self-taught, saw his first ten paintings being accepted into Choices Gallery in Bend, Oregon. (1999)

After less than eight months of painting he had a piece accepted into the Sooke Fine Arts Juried Show and his painting sold. This is the largest art show on Vancouver Island. (1999)

Tom, in his quest for innovative art work has recently done what can be described as three dimensional art, which is created by painting on multiple layers of clear plexiglass achieving a wonderfully unique depth effect. In his short career he has sold his work internationally and also has pieces in private and corporate collections.
